Sukhu Traps Business Plan 2016
Sukhu Traps Business Plan 2016
Sukhu Traps is an independently owned business that provides expertise and quality service in
supplying butterflies. It will be a dependable supply source for a variety of customers in the,
ecology and research markets. The business operates from season to season. One season is three
weeks in April and another is 3 weeks in November.
Mr. Sukhu is preparing for the upcoming season which is why he requires a loan of one million
dollars ($1,000,000) in order to acquire more materials, more equipment and to employ more
staff (Trappers). Mr. Sukhu has over 23 years of knowledge and experience in this field.
The name of this establishment is called Sukhu Traps; they operate deep within the Amazonian
areas. Their main function is to capture and gather a specific type of Arthropod (butterfly) which
is the Blue Morpho.
Mr. Sukhu met with a gentleman by the name of Rene Nardian, a Frenchman who has been in the
business for over three decades. Rene recruited Mr. Sukhu as a young lad and taught him the
business of butterflies. He showed Mr. Sukhu the ins and outs of the job and that led to Mr.
Sukhu acquiring a high level of expertise.
Business Analysis
The business consists of selling Morpho Menelaus, Morpho Adonis and Morpho Dediama
(butterflies and moths) to several buyers by means of exportation. They are all priced at (US.)
three dollars and fifty cents, two dollars and fifty cents and two dollars and fifty cents
respectively, per unit.
The collection of butterflies in the Amazon for the purpose of sale to foreign buyers is a very
profitable of business. Because of this, Sukhu Traps intend to focus their sales on the Ecology
market. They plan to sell directly to this same market on a retail basis as they build a stronger
customer prospect list. These other markets may include the collectors market selling to firms
which produce scientific displays used for educational purposes.
Sukhu Traps does a thriving business selling them at $2.00- 3.50 US Dollars for one. He and his
crew captures the butterflies, squeeze the heads to kill them and preserves them for sale. He was
given the following advice by Rene Nardian. "If you decide to capture, preserve and sell
butterflies, be prepared to be sold out at least a year in advance, every year." Not only will you
profit from your choice of business careers, but you will spread joy and happiness. Schools,
nature stores, and species reintroduction programs are desperately searching for sources of
livestock.

Market Analysis
An advantage Sukhu Traps has over competitors is his vast expertise. The methods of capturing
and curing butterflies are developing and generally, the individuals trying to produce specimens
have no specific training or alternative methods. Sukhu Traps on the other hand, has the
advantage of understanding the behavioral patterns, sterile methods, as well as business expertise
regarding management and expansion of small business and controlled environments as regards to
temperature and humidity. These conditions result in quality butterfly specimens being available
with minimal damage to their appearance. Their colors are true and vibrant. Because of the
conditions under which they are kept, the price of Morpho butterflies will be moderately high;
approximately $8,400 per dozen Menelaus and $6000 for both Adonis and Dediama. This price
fits within the market currently. The market characteristics include the age group of 35 to 54 years of
age, Euro-American professionals. This market group looks for quality and uniqueness in product
when they buy. The geographic trade territories are the Midwest, East and South Census
Divisions of the United States of America and Europe.
pricing, readily available and equal to or better than any Morpho butterfly now on the market.
Features/Benefits the monarch butterfly is beautiful and generally recognized. Those that
appreciate beauty and grace will want to add this unique touch of nature to their collection of
specimen samples for display and research purposes. This is a well known variety of butterfly
that is common in nearly all areas of the Upper Demerara regions. The Morpho butterfly will be
available seasonally which is three weeks during April and the entirety of November. However,
the highest sales volumes will be during the November season due to the fact that this is the time of year
when most of the butterflies mate.
Financial Considerations
Sukhu Traps requires more equipment such as 5 tents which will cost $20,000 for one, for the
purpose of camping out, 50 special containers to preserve and cure the butterflies which will cost
$5,000 each and Nap lean balls to aid in the proper keeping of the butterflies, Four bales of
grease proof envelopes for wrapping and preserving the creatures and will cost $24,000 and 2
chainsaws. The owner also intends to bring on more trappers in order to increase the number
amount of butterflies being caught. This will mean that more groceries will have to be purchased.
These and other equipment will be necessary in commencing operations thus, the owner will
need a loan amount of one million dollars ($1,000,000) to cover all expenses.
