Dear First Grade Families,

September 2015

Welcome back for the 2015-2016 school year! My name is

Kristen Beyer, and I will be your students first grade teacher. I
am new to Taft-Galloway this year. Last year I taught
Kindergarten nearby at Roosevelt-McGrath Elementary. I
couldnt be more excited to join the Tiger Community. I earned
my Bachelors Degree from Eastern Michigan University,
majoring in both Elementary and Early Childhood Education.
Our classroom will be a safe, caring, and motivational
environment that will encourage participation from students
and parents. I am committed to seeing your child grow and
succeed in all areas of their development. I believe that for the
best success in school there needs to be a strong parentteacher relationship. Throughout the year, I will communicate
with you through newsletters, notes, telephone calls, progress
reports, report cards, conferences, ClassDojo and email. If you
ever have questions or concerns, please contact me via note,
phone call, or email. Parent involvement inside and outside of
the classroom is an important part of your childs educational
journey. If you would like to volunteer in any way, please get in
touch with me. With your support, I believe we will have a very
successful year!
