To help the teacher-participants how to
teach beginning reading and writing in
Kindergarten to Grade 3
To enable them to apply relevant and
effective approaches, methods, and
strategies for teaching oracy and literacy
in mother tongue, Filipino, and English
To provide them with a venue to clarify
misconceptions about the continuum of
teaching beginning reading in the K to 12
Curriculum
To facilitate vertical and horizontal
articulation of learning competencies
across the following kindergarten
domains:
1. Values Education
2. Physical Health and Motor
Development
3. Socio-Emotional Development
4. Social Development
5. Language, Literacy and
Communication
6. Mathematics or Early
Numeracy
7. Understanding of the Physical
and Natural Environment
To help them design weekly plans or daily
lesson logs (DLLs) to create meaningful
learning episodes with culturally,
developmentally, linguistically and sociopolitically appropriate learning activities
To enable the participants to facilitate
vertical and horizontal articulation of
content standards, performance
standards, and learning competencies
across the key stages
To help them cascade and breakdown the
articulated learning competencies across
language strands to daily learning
objectives via the types of knowledge:
factual, conceptual, procedural, and
metacognitive
To enable them to create and demonstrate
a prototype lesson-guide for kindergarten
based on the weekly plans or DLLs
Participation of both public and private schools shall be subject to the no-disruption-of-classes policy
stipulated in DepEd Order No. 9, s. 2005 entitled Instituting Measures to Increase Engaged Time-on-Task and
Ensuring Compliance Therewith.
