Write a brief summary or blog of your experiences teaching this lesson,
addressing the following questions:

What went well? What did not go well? (Cite specific examples)
This lesson went very well. Students were able to research
various ways and approaches to conserve water at home and in
school. In school students conducted a survey related to water
usage in school. They polled various students and school
personnel regarding shower time and behaviors related to tooth
brushing, hand washing and waste management.
Were the lessons student performance objectives attained?
Student performance objectives were attained. Students were
able learn and educate others regarding ways to conserve water
and to properly dispose of waste to conserve fresh water.

Did classroom activity center on science understanding, inquiry,

and sense-making by all students? Yes, students were able to
research and investigate water behavior and then educate others
on the importance of conserving this natural resource.
Did your scientific content knowledge enable you to support
students construction of knowledge and understanding of
important scientific concepts and processes? Yes, I was also able
to utilize learned knowledge, training and resources from
experts in the field. I also attended an educator in-service
training.
When you have the opportunity to re-teach this lesson, what will
you do differently (strategies, teaching tools, assessments, etc.)
to improve student learning for all students? I would like for
students to interview family members and collect data on actual
family water usage so that we can then compare beliefs and
habits via pre and post data.
