Standard Lesson Plan

Students will be able to assess what they did over spring break by describing

Good Morning class. How was everyones Spring Break? (leave 5 seconds
for chatter)
Today we are going to write about it. You are all going to give me five
sentences that describe your spring break using our words of the week from
when we met last time. (pull out example and place under elmo)
(Read aloud the worksheet I have filled out pointing to each sentence as you
read)
(Have the head of each table pass out spring break worksheet)
Okay everybody now we are going to fill out our own sentences in our spring
break worksheet. Make sure you five sentences explaining what you did and
how you felt while you were on spring break using our emotion words and our
action verbs.
Let children have independent time for filling out worksheet. Walk around and
make sure everyone is working and staying on task.
Have them meet on the rug when they are finished and turn in assignment to
cubby.

Talk about as a group what they did over spring break then have them work
individually at desks to write what they did.

If the learning disabled child and the second language learner have a difficult
time with this activity have the learning disabled child write three sentences

Read over their work and make sure they have the correct amount of
sentences. Give a stamp to those who complete the task.

Reading
The students will be able to discuss the topics of their reading and start on

reading their stories with 80% accuracy.


Okay class right now I am going to meet with group five for our reading group.
(see list provided and read off names in group)
I need the people I just mentioned to meet me at the back table.
(Sit at the back table and hand out booklets to each child. Should only be six
maximum.)
Everyone look at the cover and tell me what you think this story is going to be
about. (Take open answers and make sure everyone has a chance to make a
prediction)
Everyone is going to read a paragraph aloud and then we are going to go to
the next student until we get to page 9.
(At page 9 discuss what they think is going to happen next and what has
already happened. Then send them back to their seats)
Now I am going to meet with group three. (Say the list of names aloud and

Small group of six maximum students.
If students have difficult time reading allow others and yourself to help them
follow along while they read aloud. Help them to pronounce the words to
