Canadian Health Systems a dream shattered

The pride of the Canadian Health Care system was shaken as the Supreme Court
showed the irreparable cracks. In 1900s US and Canada made huge investments in
medical care but medical services still remained inaccessible. With advances in
sciences hospital emerged as care centres in a stratified society. Escalated medical
costs demanded the insurance. Inspired by the Saskatchewans plan, the Medical
Act of Canada recognized the universal care for Canadians similar to Medicare&
Medicaid of U.S. While Canada provided health care services to all Canadians,
health care became unaffordable to US middle class. The Canada Health Act
conceptualized new areas such as health cost, disease pattern, and medical power.
HMOs & HSOs came with broaden health coverage. HSO &CLSC spread the health
care to community care as physicians worked in groups. HMO, HSO and alternative
services reduced health care costs, enhanced the care. But Canada emphasizing on
funds neglected the social care. Recently, health care system is faced with declining
federal help & provincial delisting of some services. The health care reforms of
Canada focused on limited issues but U.S targeted the public financing & delivery
services. The public private model has some serious drawbacks & may not benefit
Canadas health care vision.
I feel that the material is consistent with my beliefs. In India, the public private
model entitles only wealthy to the best private medical services. To me
restructured medical care could help the weaker section.
