Problem Statement: A mobile app is a software application developed specifically for use
on small, wireless computing devices, such as smart phones and tablets, rather than desktop
or laptop computers. Apps are usually available through application distribution platform,
which began appearing in 2008 and are typically operated by the owner of the mobile
operating system, such as the Apple App Store, Google Play, Windows Phone Store, and
BlackBerry App World. Some apps are free, while others must be bought. Usually, they are
downloaded from the platform to a target device, but sometimes they can be downloaded to
laptops or desktop computers. While mobile applications are becoming so extraordinarily
adopted, it is still unclear if they deserve any specific testing approach for their verification
and validation. Testing of mobile application is different and complex than testing of
traditional applications.
The students will have to work on the following to accomplish the project:
1. To analyze the existing mobile application testing metrics.
2. To design new metrics for mobile application testing likes security and
performance.
3. Validation of the proposed metrics on real time mobile applications.
The students can refer the following research papers:

Applications: Challenges and Future Research Directions,2012.
