    A barangay captain and another man were shot by two unidentified suspects on a motorcycle in San Juan, Aliaga, Nueva Ecija on April 21 at around 7:30pm. The barangay captain, Marcelino Miranda, 53, and Rodel Miranda, 24, were on a barangay service vehicle along the Cabanatuan-Carmen road when the suspects trailed and shot at them, hitting the captain twice in the neck and Rodel once in the nape, before fleeing eastward. The victims were brought to Doctors Hospital Cabanatuan City, where Rodel was pronounced out of danger but the barangay captain was in serious condition.

    Barangay Captain shot

    A Barangay Captain in San Juan, Aliaga, Nueva Ecija, along with another victim,
    were shot by two unidentified suspects riding in a motorcycle last April 21, at
    around 7:30pm.

    Barangay Captain Marcelino Miranda, 53, and Rodel Miranda, 24, were on board
    a Barangay service along Cabanatuan-Carmen road when the incident
    happened.

    Reports reaching Camp Crame state that the suspects trailed the vehicle. The
    back-rider shot Barangay Captain Miranda twice hitting the left part of his
    neck. Rodel Miranda was hit on the nape. Suspects immediately fled toward
    East.

    Victims were brought to Doctors Hospital Cabanatuan City. Rodel Miranda was
    pronounced out of danger while Barangay Captain Miranda was in serious
    condition.
