2016 BATTLE FOR THE CROWN BARBER COMPETITION RULES

All contestants must bring a live model and barbering tools in order to participate in competition. Model numbers will
be given to all participating models once confirmed and check in at the registration area.

There will be a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner in each category. Prizes to be announced.
Registration fee: $100.00 PROFESSIONAL is due at the time of registration or spot will not be reserved.

All models' hair must be cut at competition. Competitor is not allowed to cut, trim, shape or pre-set model's
hair before the competition begins. Semi-permanent color, permanent color, light color sprays and chalks are
allowed unless otherwise noted. Barber must show a transformation of the model's hair. The judges will inspect
model's hair during pre-judging or during check-in. Violation of this rule will result in the deduction of points
and/or disqualification from competition.
All contestants must check in at the registration area at least one hour prior to the battle. If contestant is late, they will
forfeit their place in the competition and their paid entry fee or fees. Please look for Check In when you arrive to the
battle.
All contestants will have a specific time to complete their particular cut and style. Judging will be conducted on a
visual basis only. Judges will use a point system on a scale of one (lowest possible score) to five (highest possible
score). Models will not be released until they have been judged. If there is a tie in a category or prize placement, the
judges will determine the final winner.
We are not responsible for models, it is up to you to provide your own, if you do not have one you will not be able
to compete and your entry fee will be forfeited. Any confrontation of any sort by barber or models will result in
automatic disqualification with NO REFUNDS.
ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST BE AT THE VENUE BY DESIGNATED TIMES FOR YOUR COMPETITION.
FASTEST FADE:
This competition is for the fastest of the fast, and the best of the best. If you can't finish a hair cut in less than 20
minutes then this battle is not for you. Models must have at least #2 length on top, no pre-cut, no prior lines or
shape-ups. Hair will be cut to 1 1/2 on top to bald on sides. Barbers will be judged on the blend of the fade, how
nice the line is, and the cleanliness of the haircut.
CREATIVE:
This is for any barber that wants to show off their artistry skills and creativity from simple to the most complex design.
Come with style or don't come at all. Barbers will be judged on how creative and clean their cut/design is. Barber
is eligible to use any color he/she wants with 45 minutes to complete. No pre-cuts. Barbers will be judged on the
complexity, color uniformity, the design, and overall haircut.
TRADITIONAL LOOK:
This competition is designed for the average barber. In this battle we will see who can complete a traditional haircut
(Taper, Pompadour, Comb over, and etc) 35 minutes. Barbers will be judged on difficulty, outline/edge up, precision
of blend, and professionalism.
Haircut must be at least 1 to 2 inches in length. Must finalize with using the sponge technique. Barbers will be judged
on overall total look, cleanliness of the fade and technique. You will have 45 minutes to complete.
STUDENT COMPETITION:
This competition is for students wanting to show off their skills. You have 35 minutes to complete the cleanest cut.
Haircut has to show a blend. Student will be judged on overall look and cleanliness.
STYLIST SHOWCASE:
This will allow the stylist to showcase their latest/hottest style and/or represent their salon within 5-8 minutes segment.
Each participant will be allowed up to 5 models, being as creative as possible to ensure audience has a clear
understanding of what youre promoting. Models must be presented with appropriate attire. (Models are not provided)
Style must be finished and ready to rip the runway.

invoked. I release all images, video, or digital recording that contain me as well as my name to CLIPPER KINGS
BARBERHOP & BARBER SUPPLY by which it may be used for marketing, promotional, or sell publicly or privately
and there will be no financial compensation provided to me. I release BATTLE FOR THE CROWN HAIR BATTLE
EXPO of any injuries or accidents that may occur at any event they host. I am at least 18 years of age, have read,
understand, and agree with the terms of this contract.
