Total Planning Background

Definition:Material Requirement Planning will ensure the right availability right

material at right time. Once the production plan or requirements are
maintained in SAP MRP run will take place. Normally MRP run will be
done at a periodic interval say once in a week as a background Job.
The same planning run can be run at On Line also.
Mainly two important types of MRP are explained below.
Consumption based MRP This MRP uses the physical stock level to
create procurement proposals. Basically the re-order point planning,
when the stock goes below the reorder point and when MRP run is
done, immediately procurement proposals are created.
Demand based MRP This MRP uses the actual requirements placed
on Demand Management as Planned Independent Requirements and
create procurement proposals.
Objective :Total On line planning is to be done for a given plan. This document
explains the process of running MRP as ONLINE processing for a
plant.

Total Planning Scheduling: Start Time

Note: Total planning MRP will be done for all materials in your plant.
This might take more time and it is suggested to be scheduled to run
overnight.
