Bredero Shaw to expand pipe coating facilities at
Onne Oil & Gas Free Zone in Nigeria, and mobilize
facility at Tema, Ghana to supply 598 km gas line.

Project Details

Bredero Shaw has signed a contract covering the supply of concrete weight coating for
598 km of pipe that will be used to build the West African Gas Pipeline (WAGP). The
line pipe will be transported to a Bredero Shaw project facility that is being mobilized
at Tema in Ghana, where the concrete weight coating will be applied and anodes will be
installed. The pipeline will transport gas from Nigeria to Benin, Togo and Ghana where
most of the gas will be used for power generation.

Bredero Shaw (Nigeria) Ltd. has played a major role in the provision of pipeline
coatings for gas and oil projects in West Africa for over twenty years from facilities
located in Onne and Warri, Nigeria. Due to the increasing demand for anti-corrosion
and concrete weight coatings for offshore, swamp and land pipeline projects, the
company is moving forward with the installation of a new Bredero Shaw coating
facility to be located at the Onne Oil and Gas Free Zone in Nigeria. This facility, which
is part of Bredero Shaws overall plan to serve the growing West African market, will
expand capacity for anti-corrosion and concrete weight coatings for pipeline projects
in Nigeria and other nearby markets.
