INTRODUCTION
The passion of Jesus Christ stands alone as the most important event
creation has ever known. The Bible tells us that long before the world
began, God had planned that the crucifixion of Jesus would be the
method and payment for sin the only payment that would reconcile
sinners to a holy and loving God.
1 Peter 1:19-20 He paid for you with the precious lifeblood of
Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God. God chose Him for this
purpose long before the world began, but now in these final days, He
was sent to the earth for all to see. And He did this for you.
Down through history, God provided us a roadmap. He foretold
various signs and conditions through His prophets. These prophets
spoke of things that mankind should watch for so that the Messiah
would be recognized and believed. These signs or prophecies were
given to us in the Old Testament. The Old Testament is the part of the
Bible written before Jesus was born. Its writings were completed in
450 B.C.
The Old Testament, written hundreds of years before Jesus birth,
contains over 300 prophecies that Jesus fulfilled through His life,
death and resurrection. Mathematically speaking, the odds of anyone
fulfilling this amount of prophecy are staggering. Mathematicians put it
this way:
1 person fulfilling 8 prophecies: 1 in 100,000,000,000,000,000
1 person fulfilling 48 prophecies: 1 chance in 10 to the 157th power
1 person fulfilling 300+ prophecies: Only Jesus!
It is the magnificent detail of these prophecies that mark the Bible as
the inspired Word of God. Only God could foreknow and accomplish
all that was written about the Christ. This historical accuracy and
reliability sets the Bible apart from any other book or record.
The New Testament was written after the death of Jesus Christ.
Archeologists have found thousands of manuscripts of the New
Testament. Some of these pieces of manuscript are dated less than
100 years after the original letters were written. In terms of historical
reliability, the Bible is superior to any other ancient writings.
This is the miraculous and reliable record of the Word of God. God
gave us these prophecies to build our faith and point the way to His
Son. As 1 John 1:1-3 states: The One who existed from the
beginning is the One we have heard and seen. We saw Him with our
own eyes and touched Him with our own hands. He is Jesus Christ,
the Word of Life. This One who is life from God was shown to us, and
we have seen Him. And now we testify and announce to you that He
is the One who is eternal life. He was with the Father, and then He
was shown to us. We are telling you about what we ourselves have
actually seen and heard, so that you may have fellowship with us. And
our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ.
In this booklet, we will take a look at just a few of the prophecies
concerning the life and passion of Jesus Christ. Our prayer is that
your faith will be increased and your witness strengthened as you
understand and are able to communicate more clearly that Jesus
Christ is indeed the Lamb of God, slain for our sins. Our hope is that
you will know beyond doubt that His death is the sacrifice for our sins.
John 7:42 For the Scriptures clearly state that the Messiah will be
born of the royal line of David, in Bethlehem, the village where King
David was born.

They shouted, Praise God! Bless the One who comes in the name of
the Lord! Hail to the King of Israel! Jesus found a young donkey and
sat on it, fulfilling the prophecy that said: Dont be afraid, people of
Israel. Look, your King is coming, sitting on a donkeys colt.

Acts 2:27-31 For You will not leave my soul among the dead or
allow your Holy One to rot in the grave. You have shown me the way
of life, and You will give me wonderful joy in Your presence. Dear
brothers, think about this! David wasnt referring to himself when he
spoke these words I have quoted, for he died and was buried, and his
tomb is still here among us. But he was a prophet, and he knew God
had promised with an oath that one of Davids own descendants
would sit on Davids throne as the Messiah. David was looking into the
future and predicting the Messiahs resurrection. He was saying that
the Messiah would not be left among the dead and that His body
would not rot in the grave.
1 Corinthians 15:17, 20 And if Christ has not been raised, then your
faith is useless, and you are still under condemnation for your sins.
But the fact is that Christ has been raised from the dead. He has
become the first of a great harvest of those who will be raised to life
again.

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned; all fall short of Gods glorious
standard.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God
is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.
1 John 1:8 If we say we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves
and refusing to accept the truth.
Jesus Christ is the only provision for our sin. It is only through Him that
we can know God personally, experience His love, and receive eternal
life.
2 Corinthians 5:21 For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be
the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God
through Christ.
Ephesians 1:6-7 So we praise God for the wonderful kindness He
has poured out on us because we belong to His dearly loved Son. He
is so rich in kindness that He purchased our freedom through the
blood of His Son, and our sins are forgiven.
Colossians 1:13-14 For He has rescued us from the one who rules
in the kingdom of darkness, and He has brought us into the Kingdom
of His dear Son. God has purchased our freedom with His blood and
has forgiven all our sins.
Hebrews 12:24a You have come to Jesus, the one who mediates
the new covenant between God and people, and to the sprinkled
blood, which graciously forgives.
We must each receive Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. When we
receive Him, we are given new life; we are born into His family; and
we can know God personally. Just to intellectually agree that Jesus
died on the cross is not enough. Each of us must turn to God,
acknowledging our sin and our powerlessness to save ourselves. We
must ask Jesus to come into our lives and receive His sacrifice as
total payment for our sins. We do this as an act of faith and will.
John 3:15b,18 Everyone who believes in Me will have eternal life.
There is no judgment awaiting those who trust Him. But those who do
not trust Him have already been judged for not believing in the only
Son of God.

Acts 16:31 They replied, Believe on the Lord Jesus and you will be
saved, along with your entire household.
Ephesians 2:8-9 God saved you by His special favor when you
believed. And you cant take credit for this; it is a gift from God.
Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none
of us can boast about it.
Revelation 3:20 Look! Here I stand at the door and knock. If you
hear Me calling and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a
meal as friends.
God sees you and knows your heart. There are no magic words or
precise formulas you must express. You can talk to God right now in
the quietness of your heart and invite Him into your life as your Lord
and Savior.
Heres a simple prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You that You are the Messiah. Thank You for
dying on the cross for my sin. I want to know You personally. I invite
You into my life as my Lord and Savior. Thank You for forgiving me of
all my sin and for the gift of eternal life. Help me to grow close to You
in this new life Youve given me.
If this prayer expresses the desire of your heart pray it right now.
Jesus will hear you. He will save you and come into your heart and
life. You will become a child of God and have eternal life.
John 1:12 But to all who believed Him and accepted Him, He gave
the right to become children of God.
Hebrews 7:25a Therefore He is able, once and forever, to save
everyone who comes to God through Him.
If you have made a decision to trust Jesus, you have been born into
Gods family. Gods promise to you is that He will never leave you or
forsake you. One of the best things you can do right now is to tell
someone about your decision.
Romans 10:9-10 For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is
Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you
will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made
35
right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are
saved.
If you already know the Lord, please share these incredible
prophecies with those around you. Make this the season that you tell
the Good News of Jesus Christ to family and friends. God bless you,
and may thanksgiving and love fill your heart as you meditate on all
the Messiah has endured and fulfilled for you.
Unless otherwise noted, all Scripture verses are taken from the New
Living Translation.
