EVENT DETAILS
GIKI Science Society brings to you its widely acknowledged event with many new modules,
aimed at bringing out the potential creativity in you. This time, there is more to learn, enjoy
and experience.
Note: A team may participate in Science Contest as well as Science Exhibition, but no
member can take part in both categories.
1. SCIENCE CONTEST
Science Kasoty (compulsory for every participant of Science Contest)
Ever feel like testing your scientific knowledge? Science Kasoty is designed to assess your
scientific knowledge. It will require you to go through two rounds.
Kasoty I: Teams are required to guess the personality and invention while being provided
the hints needed. Three obvious and 3 non-obvious hints are given. The more hints a team
demands, the less marks it gets for a successful guess. Moreover, it also incorporates Dumb
Charades, in which a member is required to communicate to other team members the
name of an invention or scientific phenomenon without using the vocal ability.
Kasoty II: Based on the aggregate scores of the Kasoty I teams will qualify for Kasoty II,
which is further subdivided into the following rounds:
Category Round: Participants will have to choose from different categories, which
span most elementary sciences, to choose from. Possible categories are chemistry,
electricity and magnetism, mechanics, modern physics, optics, waves, computer
science and multimedia. The questions will test the participants ability to use
scientific logic and concepts quickly and efficiently. Participants will be required to
choose any five of the afore-mentioned categories.
b) Speed Round: Each team will have to answer as many questions as possible within
the stipulated time of one minute.

Note: Some sample problems have been included in the invitation package.

Eureka
All great scientific minds shared a fondness for experimental science. The module is aimed
at challenging your inventive skills. Participants are expected to perform an experiment
using only the given apparatus. The efficient use of this equipment to come up with
innovative solutions to the experimental problems would result in high scores.
We advise you to study the fundamental theory behind your course projects.
Forensics
Test your logical reasoning and crime solving abilities by participating in Forensic at the 15th
Science Fair. Step into the mystery that will take you to the dark corners of the ground to
collect evidences and to your imaginary lab to judge their reliability! In forensic, we plan to
give you a crime mystery that you have to solve based on the evidences you can collect. So
everyone, it is time to dust your thinking caps!
