The Bishop's circular letter asks all parish priests to preach about Pondo ng Pinoy (Fund of the Filipino People) during masses on August 3rd to promote the movement. He encourages priests to focus on how the spirit of PnP, which stands for God's love and hope for Filipinos, relates to the Gospel story of multiplying loaves. The Bishop hopes the intensive promotion of PnP in parishes on this day will allow the mechanics of collection and distribution to be implemented going forward. He thanks the priests for their ongoing support of PnP and spreading the spirit of sharing and solidarity.

Following our well-attended Summit Meeting of Parish Priests and PPC
Coordinators last July 9, and the successful staging of the 4th PnP Founding Anniversary Diocesan Celebration last Saturday, July 26, I feel inspired to pursue the movement of the Spirit manifested in those activities, this time with more parish-based gatherings and celebrations of the PnP in our Diocese. Thus, our Pondo ng Pinoy Sunday in the whole of our Diocese of Novaliches this August 3, 2008. May I ask you to please preach on Pondo ng Pinoy in all masses this Sunday? I believe that the message of the Gospel this Eighteenth Sunday, i.e., the story of the miracle of the multiplication of the loaves, dovetails perfectly with that of the PnP which stands for Pag-ibig ng Panginoon and Pag-asa ng Pilipino. I suggest that you focus especially on the spirituality of the PnP as popularized in the saying, Anumang magaling, kahit maliit, bastat malimit, ay patungong langit. You can make full use of the homilies and basic information contained in the primer you received during the Anniversary Celebration. In case you need additional copies of the primer for your other priests preaching this Sunday, do not hesitate to contact the office of Msgr. Romy Raada at the Our Lady of the Annunciation Parish. I expect that after this Pondo ng Pinoy Sunday in our Diocese, we can proceed with the implementation of the mechanics for this same renewal movement and community foundation. In other words, following an intensive education and promotion of the PnP in our Diocese as a whole and in our parishes in particular, we then can move on to the collection and distribution aspects or stages of the same. What more can I say but to thank you for your presence and continuing support. Let us continue to enkindle the fire of the PnP within us and our own parish pastoral leaders. Let us pass on the same spirit of sharing, solidarity, sacrifice, hope and love to our people, beginning with our Sunday congregations this coming Sunday. Happy Pondo ng Pinoy Sunday! Given in the Chancery in Fairview, Quezon City, this 31st day of July in the Year of Our Lord, 2008. Most Rev. Antonio R. Tobias, DD Bishop Attested by:
