ALL-CHURCH FAMILY BELLS

Sunday, August 28, 2016
For well over a decade Family Bells has been a
musical tradition at St. Andrews.
~ You have the unique opportunity to participate in the
Summer Family Ring ~
All ages (4 years through 104 years) are invited to
participate in this August summertime opportunity. Grab a
friend or family member (mom, dad, aunt, uncle,
grandparent, godparent, or adopted church friend) and
sign up on the Family Bells Ringing poster (located on the
narthex bulletin board).
Its now your chance to ring a bell. If you can count to four
(1-2-3-4) and are able to hold at least one (1) bell, youre
ready-to-go. In just four rehearsals you will learn basic
hand bell skills and experience the joy of sharing your
musical talent with the Church family as you Ring Praise to

God!
Four (4) Thursday evening practices (7:00P-7:45P) are
scheduled: August 4, 11, 18, and 25.
This years performance will be held during the worship
service on: Sunday, August 28, 2016.
Arent you tempted to add your name to the long list of
Church members who have already played hand bells?
For more information (including lots of encouragement)
contact Lin MacGregor at: LinMacgregor@gmail.com or call
215.675.4388.

What fun we will have ringing together!

Psalm 30
1 I will exalt you, LORD, for you lifted me out of the depths and
did not let my enemies gloat over me. 2 LORD my God, I called
to you for help, and you healed me. 3 You, LORD, brought me
up from the realm of the dead; you spared me from going down
to the pit. 4 Sing the praises of the LORD, you his faithful
people; praise his holy name. 5 For his anger lasts only a
moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the
night, but rejoicing comes in the morning. 6When I felt secure, I
said, I will never be shaken. 7 LORD, when you favored me,
you made my royal mountain stand firm; but when you hid your
face, I was dismayed. 8 To you, LORD, I called; to the Lord I
cried for mercy: 9 What is gained if I am silenced, if I go down
to the pit? Will the dust praise you? Will it proclaim your
faithfulness? 10 Hear, LORD, and be merciful to me; LORD, be
my help. 11 You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed
my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, 12 that my heart may
sing your praises and not be silent. LORD my God, I will praise
you forever.

John 11:21-36, Luke 19:41, Hebrews 5:7

21 Lord, Martha said to Jesus, if you had been here, my
brother would not have died. 22 But I know that even now God
will give you whatever you ask.23 Jesus said to her, Your
brother will rise again. 24 Martha answered, I know he will rise
again in the resurrection at the last day. 25 Jesus said to
her, I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in
me will live, even though they die; 26 and whoever lives by
believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?27 Yes,
Lord, she replied, I believe that you are the Messiah, the Son
of God, who is to come into the world. 28 After she had said
this, she went back and called her sister Mary aside. The
Teacher is here, she said, and is asking for you. 29 When
Mary heard this, she got up quickly and went to him. 30 Now
Jesus had not yet entered the village, but was still at the place
where Martha had met him. 31 When the Jews who had been
with Mary in the house, comforting her, noticed how quickly she
(flip over)

got up and went out, they followed her, supposing she was
going to the tomb to mourn there. 32 When Mary reached the
place where Jesus was and saw him, she fell at his feet and
said, Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have
died. 33 When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had
come along with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in
spirit and troubled. 34 Where have you laid him? he asked.
Come and see, Lord, they replied. 35 Jesus wept. 36 Then
the Jews said, See how he loved him!
Luke 19:41
41 As he approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over
it
Hebrews 5:7
7 During the days of Jesus life on earth, he offered up prayers
and petitions with fervent cries and tears to the one who could
save him from death, and he was heard because of his
reverent submission.
