Shakespearean Sonnets

Sonnet #1
He stands like power incarnate, as Right.
With staff and globe, in light in dark in pride,
He wills and I am movedrefracted light
Through glass, as if my older self had died.
I find I'm shedby him, by love, by me.
I never sacrificed such things. I'm new.
My will has changedno longer me but we.
In time we'll see, melted, what hot winds blew.
"Just close your eyes" in silencefeel his breath.
I listen among stars, his heartbeat mine
His kissI must be slagsole death, soul death
In him I find myself, new selfwe shine.
I worship with my mouthhis crown is gold
A king of oldnot tyrantblessed to hold.
