The Doctor is feeling lonely and sad after losing his companions, Amy and Rory. As he leans sadly on the rail of the empty TARDIS, it makes strange noises trying to comfort him. Images of his past companions appear on the scanner. The TARDIS alarms snap the Doctor out of his sadness. He reminisces about his adventures with Amy and Rory while checking the TARDIS systems. The scanner shows the solar system with Earth highlighted, reminding him that Amy and Rory are living happily there. The TARDIS lands and the excited Doctor, ready to meet new companions, opens the doors to go on another adventure.

Silent night in the Tardis. All systems off. THE DOCTOR walks in. Goes up the ramp, passes by the console and leans on the rail. Head down, broken, sad. Truly miserable. He stays that way for a moment when suddenly... THE TARDIS MAKES A STRANGE NOISE. THE DOCTOR turns around slowly. Intrigued. THE STRANGE NOISE again. THE DOCTOR runs to the console and starts checking controls. THE STRANGE NOISE now becomes a REGULAR BEAT. THE DOCTOR What is it, girl? An image comes to the scanner screen. THE DOCTOR cant see it because he is too busy running around, pushing buttons and slamming levers. Its Susan, that morphs into Sarah Jane, that morphs into Rose, that finally morphs into the Ponds in their wedding gowns. THE TARDIS ALARM sounds. Loudly, annoying. THE DOCTOR What now? (finally seeing the scanner) Oh! THE TARDIS ALARMS goes off. Time slows down. Again the silent night. Again the sad DOCTOR. All alone. In his Tardis. THE DOCTOR So you too, uh? THE DOCTOR stumbles back, taking a look at the whole place, amazed. THE DOCTOR After all this time, it still gets you.
2.
THE DOCTOR stroke the console, melancholically reminiscing.
THE DOCTOR She waited for us, remember? And he waited for her. Pushes a button, never noticing it. THE DOCTOR The perfect couple. That sole sentence is enough to make him start a progressive mood change. Pulls some levers up and down, like it is nothing. THE DOCTOR The times we had. Fish vampires, Utah, Hitler and pirates... not together, of course... although that wouldve been cool... Demons run, the exploding universe... speaking of which, did I ever apologize for that? (pause) Well, its no very me to apologize, so lets keep it between us. THE DOCTOR takes a look at his golden clock and then goes to the scanner. Spins the dials, playing with them. The image of the Ponds fades away. THE DOCTOR I tried to leave them behind once. Turns out, one good bye is not enough for them. I even gave them a house... and a car! The scanner shows the Solar System and a twinkling spot over planet Earth. THE DOCTOR Oh, youre gonna miss them. Running around inside you, trying to escape from... me? No, impossible. Well, maybe she did. She was special. She never made sense. And he was plastic. You remember how he wasnt impressed to meet you? Her, on the other side... right there in her nightie. She couldnt stop talking. He goes to the atom accelerator while still pointing to that special place. THE DOCTOR And now they go on to live a new life. A happy one. (MORE)
3. THE DOCTOR (cont'd) (childish) I should know, I took a peek.
He punches the atom accelerator. The whirring. The grinding.
The Tardis taking off. THE DOCTOR Dont blame me. I had to see if I was doing the right thing. He laughs. Just one big, happy laugh. Pleased. THE DOCTOR A little sister, can you imagine? River is gonna be so crossed. THE DOCTOR trows himself in the chair. THE DOCTOR Theyre gonna be fine. A grin has taken over THE DOCTORs face. He puts his hands behind his head and cross his legs, stretching. THE DOCTOR Where to, now? The CLOISTER BELL start to sound, announcing the imminent landing. THE DOCTOR Thats right. The usual procedure. He stands up, anxious, doing that thing he does with his hands. Goes to the door. Touches the door knob and waits. The Tardis lands. THE DOCTOR doubts. Takes another look to the room. THE DOCTOR (fixing his hair and bow tie) How do I look? (pause) Do I need a hat? (pause) OK, no hat this time. Turns around and faces the door again, determined. Opens. The morning sun hits his face. THE DOCTOR Lets go... to meet new ones. THE END
