SurveyIntroduction
ThepurposeofthissurveyistoprovideMichiganCampusCompactandMichigancampuseswith
informationthatwillaidpostsecondarystudentsuccessprogramsinthestate.Thissurveyshould
takeapproximately30minutestocomplete.Weaskthatyoucompletethissurveyby5:00PM
Friday,April15,2016.
MichiganCampusCompacthasinitiatedthisresearchinordertoimprovecommunicationabout
studentsuccessacrossMichigansdecentralizedsystemofpostsecondaryeducation.Inrecent
years,manyinstitutionshaveintroducednewsuccessprogramsthatofferacomprehensiverangeof
studentsupportservicestailoredtotheneedsofspecifictargetpopulations.Thisrapidgrowthmakes
itchallengingforhighereducationprofessionalstoknowaboutinitiativesdevelopedbyother
institutions.Wehopethatthissurveywillfacilitatecommunicationabout,andplanningof,effective
successprograms.
MichiganCampusCompactwillusedatafromthissurveytodevelopacomprehensivereportonthe
stateofstudentsuccessinMichigan,andwillissuecampusbasedsummariestoparticipating
institutions.Wealsowilldevelopadatabaseofstudentsuccessprogramsforusebycollegeaccess
professionals.Wehopetomakethisdataavailableeventuallytononmemberinstitutions,
researchers,andotherswhoareworkingtoimprovehighereducationinMichigan.
Shouldyouknowofanyprograminyourinstitutionthatfitsthedefinitionoftheprogramssurveyed
here,wewouldbegratefulifyoucouldforwardthisintroductoryemailtotheprogramdirector.Our
datawillyieldamorecomprehensivepictureofstudentsuccessinMichiganifasmanyprogramsas
possibleareincluded.
