For certain aspects of design it is necessary to obtain the measure tensile

strength of concrete. the modulus of rupture test, and the direct tensile, or
cylinder-splitting test is a test for concrete measured.
The modulus of rupture test is carried out on a standard small beam and
length 700 mm. The flexural formula is used to determine the extreme fibre
tensile. The modulus of rupture varies between 11% and 23% of the compressive
strength.
The cylinder-splitting test a concentrated line applied to the cylindrical
specimen laid on edge, equilibrium of internal forces, compressive stresses must
exist at the top and bottom cylinder.
The direct tensile strength of the concrete varies. The direct tensile tensile
strength determined in this way. The test may also be used to determine the
compressive strength of a specimen.
