Tiger Families,
We are officially “Over the Hump” on this deployment and
rapidly heading towards the finish line to be reunited with our
families. Despite missing our loved ones very much. | can
say with certainty that spirits remain high and your Tigers
continue to amaze me every day with their professionalism
‘and mission execution
| want to say a special thank you to our TSG for setting up
the Over the Hump party back home. By all accounts, it was
fa great success and we loved seeing the pictures out here.
We also had the opportunity to mark the midway point with
an Over the Hump party here at White Beach in Okinawa,
MWR sponsored the event and it was a great success. Your
Tigers took the opportunity to enjoy a variety of recreational
activities and took a little too much pleasure in hitting the
CMC, XO, and myself with a pie in the face! Additionally, we
hhad the opportunity to hold a 4th of July BBQ for our Sailors,
which was a lot of fun. At the BBQ, | had the great privilege
of promoting three very deserving Tigers to the next rank as
part of the Meritorious Advancement Program, so congrats to
now, AMI McBumie, AO2 Ford, and AO3 Driscoll. In total,
we had a remarkable 23 promotions this cycle!
(Over the past two months, in addition to the operational
missions we conduct out of Kadena, we've successfully
detached to Singapore, Thailand, a
the Philippines. We've
had the honor of flying distinguished visitors such as the
Secretary of Defense as well as hosting guests from Japan,
Korea, India, France, Singapore, Philippines, and Thailand.
‘Also, we've set the bar with community relations projects both
with our partner nations and right here on base in Kadena.
I'm extremely proud of everything your Tigers have
‘accomplished so far on this deployment and I hope you feel
the same! Thanks for everything you do for your Tigers, and
thanks for staying strong as we wrap up this deployment on a
positive note!

Happy Halfway Month!
Iam so proud to be a part of Patrol Squadron 8,
and most of all, our Tiger Family! Through this
trying deployment, during one of the hottest
Jacksonville summers, the responsibility of
children, family, work, and all of the hectic
curve balls that seems to constantly test our
strength and resolve; the pulse of our Squadron
remains strong. We are more than halfway
through this deployment, and the support I've
witnessed, the kindness and compassion I've seen
in action is truly inspiring. We've welcomed
many new little Tiger Cubs since we began this
deployment, and the new life is a blessing to
behold! Congratulations to all of the new parents
out there!
You've all shown amazing strength, love and
commitment to cach other and to this country
we all serve. Please remember that we are all in
this together, and if you are feeling a need for
support of any kind reach out and let someone
know! If you haven't had the chance to come out
and mingle at any of the Squadron events, I
highly encourage you to do so! In my opinion,
the TSG has done an amazing job of creating a
beautiful sense of community that is welcoming
for everyone! If you need a friendly face to be
there for you, so you're not walking in on your
own, reach out to us! Any of us would be happy
to be that person for you! Let’s stay positive and
uplifted during this final stretch of deployment,
Let's have a blast preparing for our loved ones to
arrive home in less than 3 months. See you soon!
Tiger, Tiger!
