    In 3-phase, 4-wire star-connected unbalanced load circuits, the star points of the load and generator are connected by a neutral wire at the same potential. The current in each phase can be calculated by dividing the phase voltage by the impedance of that phase. The current in the neutral wire is calculated using Kirchhoff's law as the sum of the three phase currents. Even if the load is unbalanced, the voltage across each impedance remains the same as the phase voltage. An example calculation is provided to determine the line currents and neutral current given the phase voltages and unbalanced loads.
