    The fourth grade teachers welcome students and families to the new school year. Students will have two teachers, one for reading/writing and another for math/science/social studies.     anotherformath,science&socialstudies.Oneoftheseteacherswillalsobetheirhomeroom
    teacher.Mrs.Fleming(math,science&socialstudies)andMrs.George(reading&writing)areone
    teamandMs.Ehlers(math,science&socialstudies)andMrs.Foster(reading&writing)arethe
    secondteam.Anotherchangeinvolveshomework.Studentswillbeginreceivingnightlyhomework

    Reading:
    Studentswillworkonbuildingreadingstamina,fluency,andcomprehension.They
    willworkonmanyskills,someincludingmakingconnectionsandpredictions,determining
    pointofview,andlocatinginformationinnonfictiontext.

    Math:
    Studentswillcontinuetodeveloptheirmultiplicationanddivisionskillsaswemoveinto
    multidigitmultiplicationandlongdivision.Studentswillalsobeexposedtodeeperfraction
    concepts,aswellasintroducedtodecimals.

    Writing:
    Studentswillwriteavarietyofpiecesrangingfromnarrativestopoetry.Theywillalso
    berequiredtowritetwoNorthCarolinacontentareawritingpiecesthroughouttheyear.

    Science:
    Studentswillparticipateinfourscienceunitsthroughouttheyear,includingEarth
    Materials,MagnetismandElectricity,AnimalStudies,andLandforms.Thesekitswillallow
    studentstimetocompletehandsoninvestigationandexperiments.

    SocialStudies:
    StudentswillbeimmersedinNorthCarolinasculture,people,economy,and
    regions.

    Thefourthgradeteachersarelookingforwardtogettingtoknowyourchildandfamily.Weknowthat
