In response to your recent advertisement on TGH Careers, please accept my
application for the position of Pediatric Med/Surg Clinical Nurse. I am excited for the
opportunity to work for Tampa General Hospital and provide care and comfort for
children in need.
Previous experiences have provided me with the qualifications I need to be a strong
candidate for this position. As a University of South Florida College of Nursing
student, I have spent over 540 hours at Tampa General Hospital rotating through
numerous medical/surgical and intensive care units including the pediatric med/surg
and intensive care units. I am currently precepting on the pediatric med/surg unit,
for a total of 180 hours, which has allowed me to hone many skills specific to
pediatric nursing. Being that I have had the opportunity to precept on the pediatric
med/surg unit, I have become acquainted with the unit and many of the policies in
place. Furthermore, from my time spent at Tampa General Hospital I am familiar
with EPIC and the Pyxis system. My time on the pediatric unit has amplified my
passion for pediatric nursing and Im excited for the opportunity to dedicate myself
to the care of these patients.
