Prove of Love

Gen 22:1 AFTER THESE events, God tested and proved Abraham and said to him, Abraham! And
he said, Here I am.

Gen 22:2 [God] said, Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the
region of Moriah; and offer him there as a burnt offering upon one of the mountains of which I will
tell you.

Gen 22:3 So Abraham rose early in the morning, saddled his donkey, and took two of his young
men with him and his son Isaac; and he split the wood for the burnt offering, and then began the trip
to the place of which God had told him.

Gen 22:4 On the third day Abraham looked up and saw the place in the distance.

Gen 22:5 And Abraham said to his servants, Settle down and stay here with the donkey, and I and
the young man will go yonder and worship and come again to you.

Gen 22:6 Then Abraham took the wood for the burnt offering and laid it on [the shoulders of] Isaac
his son, and he took the fire (the firepot) in his own hand, and a knife; and the two of them went on
together.

Gen 22:7 And Isaac said to Abraham, My father! And he said, Here I am, my son. [Isaac] said, See,
here are the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for the burnt sacrifice?

Gen 22:8 Abraham said, My son, God Himself will provide a lamb for the burnt offering. So the
two went on together.

Gen 22:9 When they came to the place of which God had told him, Abraham built an altar there;
then he laid the wood in order and bound Isaac his son and laid him on the altar on the wood. [Matt.
10:37.]

Gen 22:10 And Abraham stretched forth his hand and took hold of the knife to slay his son. [Heb.
11:17-19.]

Gen 22:11 But the Angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, Abraham, Abraham! He
answered, Here I am.

Gen 22:12 And He said, Do not lay your hand on the lad or do anything to him; for now I know
that you fear and revere God, since you have not held back from Me or begrudged giving Me your
son, your only son.

Gen 22:13 Then Abraham looked up and glanced around, and behold, behind him was a ram
caught in a thicket by his horns. And Abraham went and took the ram and offered it up for a burnt
offering and an ascending sacrifice instead of his son!

Gen 22:14 So Abraham called the name of that place The Lord Will Provide. And it is said to this
day, On the mount of the Lord it will be provided.

Gen 22:15 The Angel of the Lord called to Abraham from heaven a second time
Gen 22:16 And said, I have sworn by Myself, says the Lord, that since you have done this and have
not withheld [from Me] or begrudged [giving Me] your son, your only son,

Gen 22:17 In blessing I will bless you and in multiplying I will multiply your descendants like the
stars of the heavens and like the sand on the seashore. And your Seed (Heir) will possess the gate of
His enemies, [Heb. 6:13, 14; 11:12.]

Gen 22:18 And in your Seed [Christ] shall all the nations of the earth be blessed and [by Him] bless
themselves, because you have heard and obeyed My voice. [Gen. 12:2-3; 13:16; 22:18; 26:4; 28:14;
Acts 3:25, 26; Gal. 3:16.]

Divine location and allocation

Gen 26:1 And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of
Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar.

Gen 26:2 And the LORD appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land
which I shall tell thee of:

Gen 26:3 Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto
thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy
father;

Gen 26:4 And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed
all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;

Gen 26:5 Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my
statutes, and my laws.

Gen 26:6 And Isaac dwelt in Gerar:

Gen 26:12 Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the
LORD blessed him.

Gen 26:13 And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great:

Gen 26:14 For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants:
and the Philistines envied him.

A Handful of Meal

1Ki 17:8 And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying,

1Ki 17:9 Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have
commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.
1Ki 17:10 So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold,
the widow woman was there gathering of sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray
thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.

1Ki 17:11 And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a
morsel of bread in thine hand.

1Ki 17:12 And she said, As the LORD thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in
a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress
it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.

1Ki 17:13 And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a
little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son.

1Ki 17:14 For thus saith the LORD God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall
the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the LORD sendeth rain upon the earth.

1Ki 17:15 And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house,
did eat many days.

1Ki 17:16 And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word
of the LORD, which he spake by Elijah.

A Pot of Oil

2Ki 4:1 Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha,
saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the LORD: and
the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen.

2Ki 4:2 And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house?
And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil.

2Ki 4:3 Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbours, even empty vessels;
borrow not a few.

2Ki 4:4 And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt
pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full.

2Ki 4:5 So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who brought the
vessels to her; and she poured out.

2Ki 4:6 And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a
vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed.

2Ki 4:7 Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay thy debt,
and live thou and thy children of the rest.

Mal 3:8 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee?
In tithes and offerings.

Mal 3:9 Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.

Mal 3:10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and
prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and
pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

Mal 3:11 And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your
ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts.

Mal 3:12 And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the LORD
of hosts.

STORY #6

Alabaster Box of Ointment

Mar 14:1 After two days was the feast of the passover, and of unleavened bread: and the chief
priests and the scribes sought how they might take him by craft, and put him to death.

Mar 14:2 But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar of the people.

Mar 14:3 And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a
woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and
poured it on his head.

Mar 14:4 And there were some that had indignation within themselves, and said, Why was this
waste of the ointment made?

Mar 14:5 For it might have been sold for more than three hundred pence, and have been given to
the poor. And they murmured against her.

Mar 14:6 And Jesus said, Let her alone; why trouble ye her? she hath wrought a good work on me.

Mar 14:7 For ye have the poor with you always, and whensoever ye will ye may do them good: but
me ye have not always.

Mar 14:8 She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying.

Mar 14:9 Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached throughout the whole
world, this also that she hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her.

Joh 12:1 Then Jesus six days before the passover came to Bethany, where Lazarus was which had
been dead, whom he raised from the dead.

Joh 12:2 There they made him a supper; and Martha served: but Lazarus was one of them that sat at
the table with him.
Joh 12:3 Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of
Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment.

STORY #7

The Widow’s mites

Mar 12:41 And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the
treasury: and many that were rich cast in much.

Mar 12:42 And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a
farthing.

Mar 12:43 And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That
this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:

Mar 12:44 For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she
had, even all her living.

STORY #8

Launch into the Deep

Luk 5:1 And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he
stood by the lake of Gennesaret,

Luk 5:2 And saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and
were washing their nets.

Luk 5:3 And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon's, and prayed him that he would
thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship.

Luk 5:4 Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let
down your nets for a draught.

Luk 5:5 And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken
nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.

Luk 5:6 And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.

Luk 5:7 And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come
and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink.

Luk 5:8 When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a
sinful man, O Lord.
Luk 5:9 For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they
had taken:

Luk 5:10 And so was also James, and John, the sons of Zebedee, which were partners with Simon.
And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men.

Luk 5:11 And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed him.

STORY #9

Five Loaves, two Fishes

Joh 6:5 When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto
Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat?

Joh 6:6 And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do.

Joh 6:7 Philip answered him, Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that
every one of them may take a little.

Joh 6:8 One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, saith unto him,

Joh 6:9 There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they
among so many?

Joh 6:10 And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the
men sat down, in number about five thousand.

Joh 6:11 And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples,
and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would.

Joh 6:12 When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain,
that nothing be lost.

Joh 6:13 Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the
five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten.

to give thee.

land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations,
and thou shalt not borrow.
