The Zoo Story by Edward Albee
The place of this drama is a bench in Central Park. According me this drama almost
focused on characterization from the characters. Albee gives two characters in this drama,
Jerry and Peter. I think both of them have different and contrast characters. I know from the
dialogue and how they are looks like.
The first story of this drama establish the animal motif, i know from the dialogue that
Jerry give questions to Peter about his pets, and Jerry believes that a persons relationship
with animals reveals important information about that person's character. Look this dialogue :
Jerry : Birds.
Peter : My daughters keep them in a cage in their bedroom.
Jerry : Do they carry disease? The birds.
Peter : I dont believe so.

And after i finished reading this drama, i conclude that from the title The Zoo Story
not only tell about Jerry after visit to the Central Park Zoo but also the interaction between
both of Jerry and Peter. The writer seems suggest that the situation of the play has different
types of animals for one another if they are allowed to interact.
