Let us bow our heads and place ourselves in the presence of the Lord.

Heavenly Father, we come to You in confidence, asking for Your blessings and
graces, as we are gathered here together to celebrate the Day of the
Seafarers.
We wish to thank You and all those who contributed in any way in the fruition
of this event, we realize that without Your guidance and help, we could not
be able to succeed with the plans we have for this day. You have clearly
showed us how to conduct our work with a spirit of joy and enthusiasm. We
are of different institutions and agencies, yet we are united for we have the
same goals.
We are grateful for this opportunity to honor and thank the Seafarers, for
their dedication to ideals of seafaring services, for their skills of seamanship
and navigation which bring them in safety across the oceans of the world,
and for their personal sacrifices and hard work, providing their family with
resources to sustain their living. Also, we thank the services of the various
maritime agencies for their aid and care rendered to seafarers and their
families.
O Lord God, listen favorably to our prayers and with Your Divine Graces,
Bless the seafarers on board that they may be protected from dangers and
perils of the sea; and even in the storm, grant that there may be peace and
calm within their hearts; May the love of their family and homeland keep
burning in their hearts as they endure the loneliness and drudgery of toiling
at sea and; May peace and harmony reign on every ship all hands working as
one happy family.
Bless all the seafarers around the globe that they may enjoy peace and
goodness of your love. May the voice of the seafarers be heard more audibly
in the corridors of power when the rules for their profession are laid and may
those who profess to champion the rights and well-being of seafarers always
put their words into action.
We also pray to give the maritime students the desire to pursue their chosen
career. Guide them from the beginning of their studies until they join the
growing community of the maritime industry.
In the cycle of prayer, we also remember today all the seafarers who have
gone before us. (Pause for a few minutes)
Lord, We ask Thy blessings upon this event, what we begin today in effort
and cooperation be done with your inspiration, continued with your help, and
be completed with your guidance. We ask all these through Your Mighty
Name, Amen.
