black folder for this information.
COMMUNICATION - I may be reached via email at jennifer.mcbride@ftcsc.k12.in.us or
telephone at 860-4637. Please feel free to call before school from 8:20-8:40 and after school
until 4:10. Notes are appreciated as well. If you call outside or inside of those hours and I am not
available, please leave a message and Ill get back with you as soon as possible.
CHANGE IN AFTER SCHOOL ROUTINE If you have not done so, please return the
transportation form as soon as possible. I MUST HAVE A SIGNED NOTE anytime your
childs normal after school routine changes - i.e. they will be a car rider instead of riding the bus,
they are supposed to/not supposed to go to the YMCA after school program, etc. These messages
must be left with the secretary at the front office, who will then relay them to me.
NEWSLETTER A weekly newsletter will be emailed by each Monday. It will contain
information about our weekly activities and upcoming events. You will find announcements of
tests, projects, and classroom activities in the newsletter. Students are expected to read the
newsletter with a parent or guardian.
LUNCH MONEY - Please see the Parent/Student Handbook for lunch prices and policies. Any
questions or concerns that you have about your childs lunch money should be directed to our
cafeteria manager, Mrs. McKinney, at 860-4605. Please remember that all lunch money must be
sent in an envelope marked with your childs name.
HOMEWORK AND EVERY DAY ITEMS - Students will bring their BLACK plastic 3
prong folder home each day, which will contain their weekly behavior log, spelling list, online
passwords and ANY papers provided to the child. Please be sure to empty this folder and
return homework items each day. Students will also bring home a planner with their current
nights homework recorded inside. This planner will inform you of what is to be due on each day.
This is to ensure that students know their expectations and parents can stay involved. I
encourage you to talk to your child about their homework. There will be math homework
and reading almost every night. Homework is expected to be turned in on time. Students who
chose not to do homework will receive a mark in the binder which will result in a mark in their
Black Take Home Folder in order for parents to be notified on a daily behavior report. Students
will be required to complete work during recess time.
EVERYDAY MATH ONLINE

Students are encouraged to log onto the Everyday Math website in order to practice math skills,
play games, etc. A user name and password will be sent home early in the school year. If you need new
log in information at any point in the school year, feel free to ask. The website is
www.everydaymathonline.com
RAZ-KIDS
Students are encouraged to log onto the Raz-Kids website in order to practice literacy skills, play
games, etc. A user name and password will be sent home early in the school year. If you need new log
in information at any point in the school year, feel free to ask. The website is http://raz-kids.com/login
MEDICATION - If your child must take medication during school hours, you must fill out a
medication form located in the front office. This includes cough drops. There is also a specific
form for students with Asthma that must be filled out as well.
ABSENCES - Please call the schools attendance line (860-4678) by 8:00 a.m. to report your
childs absence. Please specify if you would like their work to be sent home with another child
or if you will be picking it up. Work will be ready in the front office by 4:00. If you know ahead
of time that your child will leave school early for an appointment, please send a note so that we
can have your child ready to go when you arrive. It is very disruptive to our class to have
students leave unexpectedly.
WATER BOTTLES - Students are permitted to keep a water bottle at their desk in the
classroom. This bottle must have a lid and should go home weekly to be washed. It should only
contain water, no juice or soda. Students may fill up their bottles before school only; they will
not be permitted to leave during class to do this. Water bottles are a privilege which may be
taken away if mistreated
FOOD NO FOOD ALLOWED FOR BIRTHDAYS OR ANY OTHER SPECIAL OCCASION.
