1. Answer the following questions. Each question carries 1 mark.

(a) Find whether y(t)=Ax(t)+B is a Linear system or not.


(b) Distinguish between Energy and Power signals.
(c) State the Dirichlets conditions for the existence of Fourier series.
(d) State the Parsevals Theorem of Fourier Transforms.
(e) What is Aliasing effect and when does it occur?
(f) What is the relation between Autocorrelation and Energy spectral density?
(g) Determine the Energy of the signal x(t) =e-tu(t).
(h) Find the Laplace Transform of x(t)=tu(t) and sketch the ROC.
(i) State the Final value Theorem of Laplace Theorem.
(j) What is the ROC of a non-causal infinite sequence?

(2)(a) Determine the Energy and Power of the signal x(t)=rect(t/2)sinw0t and hence find whether it
is an Energy signal or Power signal.

(4)(a) A signal x(t)=2cos(400t)+6cos(640t) is ideally sampled at sampling frequency of 500Hz.If


the sampled signal is passed through an ideal low pass filter with cutoff frequency of 400Hz,
what are the frequency components that appear at the filter output? Sketch the output
spectrum and find the output signal.

(b) Explain about Distortionless transmission through an LTI system and also explain about
Linear phase systems.

(5)(a) The impulse response of a system is h(t)=e-2tu(t) when excited by the input given by
x(t)=e-4t[u(t)-u(t-2)]. Determine the output of the system using Graphical method.

1 rad/sec. Determine the output Energy spectral density and hence the output energy.
