Siemens Automation products follow an overall Product lifecycle of three major stages: Active, Phase-Out (alternately called
Mature) and Discontinued.
Stage I Active: Standard Catalog Product: This is the product in the current catalogs or CA01.
Stage 2 - Phase-Out Product: (Phase-Out and Mature terms are used interchangeably) Once a product is declared to be in
Phase-Out (Mature), there are two phases that vary by product family.
Final Purchase: All products are intended but not guaranteed available for quantity purchase up to one year.
1:1 Swap: After the one year period, products will be serviced on a 1 for 1 repair and replacement basis only
through the duration of the Product Family's Phase-Out period or as long as supplies last, whichever is sooner.
Stage III Discontinued: No repairs; no spares, no technical support available
Pricing can also vary during the product life cycle as costs change. A recommended alternative is also offered when
