BlackBoard Magazine is Northwestern Universitys only black-interest magazine. Since its creation in 1970 and
its revival in 2016 the magazine has been the primary source for expressing the Black narrative on
Northwesterns Campus.

Oversee the associate editor as well as a staff writers ensuring deadlines are met and articles meet
magazine standards

Pitch article ideas to assign to staff writers while also writing feature stories for multiple sections of the
magazine
Fact check and edit stories as well as coordinating the order for which each article is to be published
Spearhead efforts for the magazine launch, including all fundraising and most marketing events

In These Times dedicates itself to covering topics of social justice and the policies affecting the U.S.

Fact check multiple stories each week for print and website publishing
Prepare a variety of content on Zyzzyva platform to ready stories for the publications website

University and Vanderbilt University. The purpose of the magazine is to challenge the common thought and
give voice to the minority point of view.

Summer 2015

Soluciones Comunitarias is an NGO based in the Dominican Republic that works to combat the issues within
rural communities through grassroots entrepreneurial empowerment.
Used PremierePro to create a promotional video for the organizations Northwestern region
Organized a cohesive plan to integrate Soluciones Comunitarias into Dominican public schools.
Created a program for the NGO in Palo Verde to train young adults for a career in social entrepreneurship
Helped to organize a community business in the rural area of Vicentillo through implementing a
personalized filing system.
