Projects
Curing of Onions

June - November, 2015

Study on curing of big Bellary onion when cured in modular ventilated structure and
by other popular curing practices. Curing studies were conducted with fresh Bellary
big onion variety to evaluate the performance of modular ventilated structure. Various
physical and chemical parameters were analysed during curing and the results were
compared with traditional curing methods. The study helped me in getting a better
understanding on how to do and put into writing a research paper. It also helped me
learn the use of a few softwares.

IR and MW

May - June , 2015

Infrared and Microwave Process and System Designing for Grapes and Leaves. I worked
with Mrs. Vrunda Vyas, Design Head, Twin Engineers on this project for 4 weeks who
helped me in understanding the working of such a system and finally we were able to
successfully design a IR assisted MW drying machine for conversion of grapes to raisins.
This project helped me understand the use and the future potential of Microwave and
Infrared in developing drying and sterilization equipments for foodstuffs.

Nanosensors

October - till date, 2015-2016

Applications of Nanosensors. I worked under Prof. Preetam Sarkar to write down a book
chapter on this topic. We worked together to understand the various Nanotechnologies
in use nowadays. We jot down all major researches done on this topic in the form of a
review paper for a better understanding of the readers.

Gooseberry seed remover

November - till date, 2015-2016

I am working on the development of an equipment to easily separate the seeds from the
pulp of the gooseberries which will be a great help to the manufacturers of gosseberry
murabba in northern states of India.

Projects
Chironji nut cracker

January - March, 2016

I worked with my Prof. Dr. Rama Chandra Pradhan on the development of an equipment
to easily separate the kernels from the Chironji seeds. Such a machine had not been
developed till date so it will help a lot in the processing of Chironji seeds which are
grown on a large scale in Odisha and have a high market value and demand.
