Hemp Life Magazine: Weed + Music

= Hemp Life. What does the statement Hemp Life mean
to you and how do you express it in your everyday life if
any?
DJ Peg: Thats an interesting question because Im not a
big weed smoker. I actually dont smoke at all. But I do
eat edibles every now and then. Also most of my friends
and family get high and it doesnt bother me at all. I feel
its truly your choice if you want to get high or not. So
Hemp Life to me means its a lifestyle you have the
freedom to make!

may have experienced (or heard of) from using weed if

HL: Being from the Seattle area, how do you feel about
the current music scene in the Northwest? Has Seattle
changed or grown as an industry over the years?

Peg: Well one of the health benefits I know firsthand is

that it helps cancer patients. My cousin, who passed
away from Cancer (not that long ago), treatments were
killing his appetite. The only way he could eat was after
smoking weed or eating edibles. It also mellowed him out
too. I honestly believe Cannabis made him live a little bit
longer.

Peg: I feel the current music scene in the Northwest is

getting better. There are a lot of good artists and
producers from the area that are putting out quality
music. In my opinion Seattle has not really grown in the
industry yet, which is surprising with all the talented
artists, but I do feel that our time is coming soon!

best of it. Plus I took advice from veteran DJs and I
practiced all the time. In a short time I made a name for
myself and promoters started booking me. I still work
hard now and I put out a mix every week! My best advice
for up and coming DJs is learn your craft. Learn how to
scratch, blend, read a crowd and song selection. And
practice as much as possible!
HL: How important is the relationship between the
artist & the DJ? Do you feel that the relationship is
growing or diminishing? Briefly explain.
Peg: I feel the relationship between the artist and the DJ
are very important because we are all working towards a
common goal, which is to put out great music for people
to hear! Once you do that the fame and fortune will
come. But I do feel it is diminishing though. Because of
social media and free online music platforms, artists feel
they dont need DJs as much as they did in the past. And
to keep it one hundredmost DJs dont play local
music. Im one of the few DJs that support local artists
in the Seattle area.

Walker: Im not one to judge especially when it comes
to what people choose to do with their life. I do feel that
since pot is legal though, it should be the last thing
that one would discriminate against.
HL: Part of our mission here at Smokers Society &
Hemp Life Magazine is to promote the benefits of

420 Fashion Week Performer/Model - Bruce G Nice

Hemp Life Magazine: Weed + Music

= Hemp Life. What does the statement Hemp Life mean
to you and how do you express it in your everyday life if
any?
Bruce G Nice: Hemp Life is honestly why I'm still
progressing in a positive direction. Weed and music are
the two most unifying, peaceful and abundant sources
readily available to some degree. What it means to me is
an organic way of life, free of societal constraints, full of
drive, ambition and creativity. I express it in my everyday
life by being a real life advocate, walking testimony to
what weed and music can do; when used responsibly.

Nice: Me personally, I smoke sativa cannabis strains.

They have been known to stimulate the mind in
prodigious ways. Unlike its counterpart indica, sativa
strains are known to catalyze synapse firing, increase
energy and creativity. Indica strains have been used to

real ones! I met some solid DJ's in the beginning that
introduced me to the industry. I was on 1200's in 98'
Djing parties and dances in high school. Made great
connections along the way and have got to play at some
cool places in Seattle. I would consider my style to be
party rocking influenced with hip hop and r&b.

people together for the right reasons, I'm cool with it!

Hemp Life Magazine: Weed + Music

= Hemp Life. What does the statement Hemp Life mean

Super Chronic Caf: Hemp Life to me represents an
active cannabis lifestyle which encompasses a whole

a Monday morning for that energetic, uplifting and
euphoric feeling to start off the week.

Infusing each edible only enhances all of the health

Cannabis has been used to relieve pain; digestive and

psychological disorders for more than 3,000 years with
current studies proving cannabinoid receptors play an
important role in many of the body's processes, including
metabolic regulation, cravings, pain, anxiety, bone
growth and immune function. We have provided
cannabis to patients, and witnessed improved appetite
and relieved nausea in those who have cancer. We have
also seen relief in symptoms such as muscle stiffness in
people who have multiple sclerosis. This is a miracle

In addition to creating infused superfood edibles, the

HL: Tell us about your movement, what you do and

how you got involved in the Cannabis Industry? Also,
what is your mission and overall message to the world?

Super Chronic: The 420 Fashion Show created a unique

and fun event! The cannabis industry's primary focus is
on consumption parties and it was fun to see Hemp Life
Magazine go outside of the box with a fashion show and
they really rocked it! The smaller venue's old-world
charm provided an up-close & personal experience,
without the pretension. I've been receiving really good
feedback on my social media, which to me is "customer
validation" that if the interwebs want another 420
Fashion Show, so do the locals!

Super Chronic: We are really focused on the Active

Cannabis Lifestyle. This movement will normalize and
make cannabis acceptable to the mainstream.
Eliminating the notion of the "Lazy Stoner" and allow
people to see this plant as essential to their overall
health and well-being. To support that movement, we
have created- The Health Conscience (THC) with High
Standards; Part of this involves retired professional
athletes (Cliff Robinson, AKA "Uncle Spliffy")
highlighting Cannabis' benefits for athletes both
professional and non-professional (at home yogis are
amongst our target audienc)!
I began using medical cannabis in college after a sports
injury and continued using cannabis in lieu of
prescription narcotics. I also was compelled to come out
of the "Green Closet" in 2008 to run the
Seattle SuperChronics in order to have the resources to
ease the pain of a friend who was suffering from Multiple
Sclerosis (MS). This is an extremely important cause for
me as not only do I believe that cannabis can provide
temporary relief, but daily use coupled with a healthy
lifestyle with specific organic, non-inflammatory foods
can work towards reversing the symptoms of MS
altogether.

HL: You attended as well as made some edibles for our

VIP guests during 420 Fashion Week. What are your
overall thoughts about the event? Do you feel that 420

HL: Any comments, shot outs or last words? Anything

Super Chronic: Operating a Cannabis Cafe is currently
punishable by a Class-C Felony in Washington State as of
August 2015, so unfortunately the SuperChronic Cafe is a
virtual experience at this time. Once the law is
overturned, I look forward to seeing and meeting many
new faces as we move forward with the Active Cannabis
Lifestyle in our new cafe, playing ping pong and sharing a
SuperChronic joint.
The cafe is part of a bigger dream of mine. I want my
legacy to be that I helped cure Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
and we can do that one joint at a time with the revenue
from The SuperChronic Cafe providing the capital to find
a cure for MS. I love our community and the support we

friendship a health benefit? Lol!
HL: Can you speak a little on the rise of your
success? Like from where you started to where you are
today? What are some obstacles that you've had to face?
LPM: I can count much of my success through the 11
12

years I've volunteered at Seattle Hempfest. I have never

met so many people and learned so many networking
skills as I have at the festival. Of course music is my
passion and getting to work with nearly 100 artists each
year is incredible. Seattle Hempfest is definitely not your
typical festival and is a non-profit 100% volunteer
powered event. There are all kinds of obstacles with such
a unique event. Where most events have an
entertainment budget we have none. Loading bands in
across a 1.5 mile long park on carts and by hand is also
challenging. But through these struggles you create
foundations for success. For example some of the
fundraising we've done to create entertainment budgets
can be carried across other business platforms. Some of
these lessons I've learned in the world of sponsorships
are a major driving force in the success of our company.
HL: You are doing a lot of different things right now
not only business & artist related but for the youth and
the community. Tell us a little bit about the projects
that you are currently involved in and how people can
support it.
LPM: Thanks for asking and I'm so excited about our
alternative careers community center. It's called "The
Den Alternative Center". It's going to have an indoor
skate park, artist rehearsal space and all ages venue.
Also glass blowing, media studios, art gallery, art work
space, photography and video green screen space. I can
go on & on about all our activities and how much we'll
be helping the community. It's best to watch the video
and read all about it @ TheDenAC.com
HL: Any comments, shot outs or last words? Anything
you want to say to the Stoner community or touch basis
on that we haven't already?
LPM: Biggest shout out ever to all my friends and
family for believing in the vision and
supporting/attending our events over the years :). If you
haven't had the chance to ride one of our party buses,
star in a video or share a moment in time than its not
too late. More than ever I want to make friends with new
people and look to make a positive impact and build the
legacy. -Levi Lyon & LyonPrideMusic

with Hemp Life Magazine!

Hemp Life Magazine Icadon Interview.

By Taz.
Re-edited by, Icadon
Dialogue:
He walks into the nearest coffee shop on Washington
Ave. In South Beach Miami, Florida.
The Famous Franchise LLC CEO just came from Ocean
Dr. & 9th Street near the Waldorf Hotel (across the street
from club Mangos), where he just purchased a Cuban
Cohiba Cigar from one of the beautiful cigar girls
walking up & down Ocean Dr. "Let me get a Coffee Con
Leche" he tells the cute Latin girl behind the counter.
She smiles and takes the $5 Five Dollar Bill he hands
her. "Keep the change and let me get 4 (four) spoons of
sugar please. Gracias", he says in Espanol. He only
knows the basics even though he is
half Dominican. Something not too many people know
about him. He pulls out his phone and draws the screen
lock pattern on his new Galaxy S7 phone and looks
through his messages. He sees a message
from Hemp Life Magazine & Smokers Society CEO
Taz. It read:

using that name.

Illuminati Ica: Yeah I'm getting responses. Good & Bad,
but I can care less about that. I chose that new name for a
few reasons. One, because I've been Illuminati Sacrificing
artists my whole career & I'm still doing it like I'm in the
beginning of my career.
For instance that Reebok/Source Magazine Freestyle
Battle I won. I sacrificed over 2100 artists in that
competition (See here):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q5mJ0HR9xYU&list

Sacrificed Swizz Beats whole label in SONY studios.
That's before he dropped Cassidy. He let me hear Cass
after the battle. Shout to Swizz. One of the greatest
producers in the game. If not Thee. It's either him, Dre or
my boy Rockwilder! And my new youngin Platinum.
Another reason I chose that name is because I'm noticing
a glow that I have in other peoples eyes. It's luminous.
Like a just coming home from up north glow. Also my
close friends tell me I'm at the top of my game & my flow
is at the top of the game without even trying. I'm the Top
of the Pyramid. The last level. There are 14 levels to that
pyramid on your dollar bill. I'm the last level. That 14th
level. The Triangle with the Eye in the middle of it. The
All Eye Seeing. Because I. C. (I see) everything. The real
shit, fake shit, everything. I'm Illuminati Ica.
HL: Thank you for gracing the cover! How has the
new year been treating you so far?
With almost 6 months in, is 2016 what you expected it
to be so far?
Ica: Your welcome Taz. Thanks for having me babe.
Your too groovy for having Illuminati Ica grace the cover
of your Mag too. :) I appreciate it. The year has been
great. Ups & Downs of course, but a great year. I'm
learning things about myself that I never knew and doing
things damn near impossible.

He's proud of his work. As he should be. He is the

girlfriends call him Neil. He prefers you call him

He grabs the Coffee Con Leche off the counter, takes a
sip of it, smiles and leaves the store.

Ica: The one thing that I'm doing differently this year is
giving myself more time for me. Spending more time
with myself. More Ica time. I've shared my time with a lot
of people who was and
was not worth even being around me. And I'm realizing
how precious time is. Some people say time is money. It's
not. Money you can get back & keep getting back. Time
you can't. I'm noticing how valuable time is and now I'm
utilizing it more wisely. Everything in this world is
accessible at least three times. Time isn't. You get one
time with time. No get backs.

that true die hard fans want more than an MP3 that they
can't touch, feel or see. True Die hard fans buy CD's,
Albums, etc. They need something tangible. Something
they can feel & hold. They actually buy two copies. One
to bang & one to save as memorabalia. Cd's are nearly
extinct. Apple and a few other companies stopped making
laptops with CD drives. The Micro SD Card seemed to be
the best solution and believe me I've tossed around a few
ideas. It's small, goes right into your smartphone & you
can put a bunch of cool stuff on their for your fans besides
just MP3's. For my "Loud Pack/Dog Food Digi Pack
single, I am putting personal pics, video of me recording
my album down here at Hit Factory Criteria Miami & a
personal letter to fans. For my "New Religion" album I
plan to place even more interactive stuff on the Micro SD
card. It's just another step into the Digital age & I'm proud
to usher this step in. The Micro SD Card is nothing new.
It has been here for awhile. I just found proper use for it.
It will not only change the way music is packaged & sold,
but it will also change the movie industry as well and
replace DVD's. It will also change the
Magazine industry & replace paper magazine's, which
will save the trees and add to'Earth Day', which was
yesterday. I'm just playing my part TAZ. Lol.

new & different things. Being authentic & creative at the

(shit I helped usher it in with my Mr. Digital Online EP
in 2009) and I see this as the new way. This is how I plan
to release my new album & singles. On a MICRO SD

with this one. Outdid myself. My "Dog Food" single is the

got another song on the album called "Forever Ballin".
This shit can change day to night. Literally. You probably
think I'm lying, but the people here in Miami will tell you.
Shit is crazy. I never heard of any song affecting the

entitled "Manuel", before I left my home & the greatest
city on earth (NYC) to move to the greatest beach on
earth (Miami Beach) I shot a TV show with Sway from
MTV & the MTV staff. Sway is an executive producer

He finishes his Cuban Coffee, takes a pull of his Cuban

cigar & stands up. He looks around and walks away from
the hotel. He sees a CitiBike rack full of bikes. He sticks
his AmEx card inside the computer, punches a few
buttons on the screen, then walks up to a certain bike &
pulls it off of the rack. In New York (His Home) he
never rode bikes as an adult, but here in Miami (His New
Home) he
likes the mode of transportation. He hops on his rented
Citibike and starts to ride toward Ocean Dr. He stops in
front of the Versace Mansion on Ocean Drive. There are
people everywhere & cars driving by blaring music. The
Scene. He loves the scene.
HL: So how was your 4/20? Last year for 4/20 High
Times Magazine had you judge their Cannabis Cup
in Denver. How was that experience for you? Also
how did you get picked to be a
judge? You must smoke a lot.
Ica: My 4/20 was good. Great. My first one in Miami
was great. My Bday is on the 5th of April so it always
blends right into My Bday celebration. It was cool
though. I smoked a lot, went to a party in Miami at
Churchills Pub that was sponsored by Nug Brand
Clothing Co. (A Stoner Clothing Co). Yeah they chose
me to be a judge last year. It definitely was cool. Not
sure how they just decided to choose me, but yes I do
smoke a lot & they know it. Besides I did perform at a
show HT had in Brooklyn a few years back & I also used
to have my own blog on their site. Shout to High Times!
They show me love. It was a crazy experience though.
The judges were cool and from all different walks of life.

it was cool. Real different. I had my camera team down

our bodies that is for sure. We should never treat our
sick people bad and always focus on Earth Care, People

us. We should also grow naturally and with the least
impact to Gaia (Mother Earth) and our environment.
Has anyone noticed all the plastics that are required now
in the dispensaries? Where do they go and what is the
carbon footprint of 1 dispensary compared to a farm or
natural system? If you think about it deeply isn't that
insane? We are polluting the earth with plastics from the
dispensaries and new regulations. Wasteful in my opinion.
HL: Tell us more about your farm, holistic center as
well as Bed & Breakfast. Where are you located? What
is your mission and how can people learn more about
your movement?

Now that the recreational has passed I do see the

dispensaries talking about getting rid of medical
cannabis which was what got it on the ballot in the first
place and I think that is wrong & hypocritical. It is not
just about money and profits. It is about holistic healing,
spirituality and helping ease the suffering of our fellow
humans. I do not like to see people or animals or
anything suffer and I believe that our creator put this
plant here on earth because of the same reasons.

Kathy: I started The Shangri-La Inn at Gaia's Farm and

and the ill & disabled. The Shangri-La Inn is an ecofriendly, bohemian style farm stay bed & breakfast. I also

the plant and the other uses for it!!! STOP HATING!!!!!!!
