MATERIALS:
Caron International's Simply Soft
Caron International's Simply Soft Brites
8 oz. Embroidery Print (Color A), 6 oz. Lemonade (Color B), 4 oz. Grape (Color C).
PLEASE NOTE: Yarn usage may vary depending on your particular
yarn techniques.
Needles: Scarf size Q crochet hook, Hat size H crochet hook or size to reach gauge below.

GAUGE:
Scarf; 2 dc + 1 Puff stitch = 1". Hat; 3 dc = 1". TAKE TIME TO
CHECK GAUGE.
PATTERN STITCHES:
Puff Stitch: (yo, insert hook in st, pull up a loop) 3 times, yo, pull through all loops on hook.

SCARF
With 2 strands held tog using color A, ch 110.
Row 1: Dc in 3rd ch from hook, * ch 2, sk 1 ch, dc in next 2 dc, * rep from * across row. Fasten off.
Row 2: Attach color B on top of last dc. Ch 5, * puff stitch in next ch-2 space, ch 2, * rep from *
across. End dc in last dc. Fasten off.
Row 3: Attach color A, ch 3, dc in ch-2 space, * ch 2, 2 dc in next 2 ch space * rep from * across.
End dc in 4th and
3rd ch of ch-5. Fasten off.
Row 4: Attach color C, rep Row 2.
Row 5: Rep Row 3.
Row 6: Rep Row 2, with color B.
Row 7: Rep Row 3.
Fasten off.
Fringe: Cut 14 strands of each color. Knot 3 strands in each st across both short ends of scarf.
Trim fringe.

HAT
With color A, ch 4, join with sl st to form ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 3, work 9 dc in ring. Join with sl st to top of ch 3.
Rnd 2: Ch 3, dc at base of ch 3, work 2 dc in ea dc around (20 sts) counting ch 3 as one st. Join as
before.
Rnd 3: Ch 3, * 2 dc in next dc, 1 dc in next dc, * rep from * around, work 2 dc in last dc, (30 sts).
Join.
Rnd 4: Ch 3, * 2 dc in next dc, 1 dc in ea of next 2 dc, * rep from * around. Join.
Rnd 5: Continue to work in dc and inc 10 dc evenly spaced
around (working 1 more st bet inc). Fasten off.
Rnd 6: Attach color B, rep Rnd 5. Rnd 7: Ch 3, dc in ea dc around (60 dc). Join.
Rnd 8: Attach color A, rep Rnd 7. Fasten off.
Rnd 9: Attach color C, rep Rnd 7. Fasten off.
Rnd 10: Attach color A, rep Rnd 7. Fasten off.
Rnd 11: Attach color B, ch 5, * sk 2 dc, puff stitch in next st, ch 2, * rep from * around. End puff st in
last st. Join to ch 3. Fasten off. Rnd 12: Attach color A, ch 3, dc in ch-2 sp, * ch 1, 2 dc in next ch-2
sp, * rep from * around. Join to ch 3. Rnds 13-14: Ch 1, sc in ea stitch around. Join. Fasten off.
Care Instructions: Machine Wash: warm water, gentle cycle. Machine Dry: low heat, delicate cycle.
