6th Grade Religion
Course Description:
Sixth grade will be using the book, Faith First, published by Resources
for Christian Living (RCL). Students will cover a variety of topics including
faith, scripture, liturgy, sacraments, morality, and prayer. Students will be
expected to actively participate in class activities, discussions, and group
projects. As part of their participation grade, each student will lead the
class in a personal prayer or meditation for the day. As part of Christ the
Teachers School theme for the 2016-2017 school year, Veni, Sancte
Spiritus, students will be encouraged to take part in various service/mission
projects throughout the year.
The sixth grade religion curriculum can be found at www.cdow.org. Click
on Offices and Ministries at the top of the page, scroll down to Religious
Education, then Elementary Curriculum, which will take you to the list of
grades on which to click. I encourage you to take a look so that you are
familiar with what areas are being covered with your student during this year.
It also provides you with activities (ex: praying at home with your student)
dealing with the curriculum.
