Forced Choices

Set up: Post signs with different identity groups around the room. First
have a Gallery Walk where people can add identities they feel
are missing and post questions (using sticky notes) on the signs.
Discuss questions and clarify definitions prior to activity.
Activity: Read out a statement from list below. Have participants
move to stand under the identity sign that best suits their
answer. Solicit people to explain why they chose to stand where
they did. Try to get responses from a diverse range of
identities.

support others in this area.
Debrief: Have people look around and see the people that can be
resources to them now and throughout the summer. Remind the
group of their shared experience and knowledge. No one is an
expert in everything. We all have things to learn, and we all have
valuable things to share.
