A book Review: Duty of Acquiring Knowledge

The writer emphasized about the importance of seeking knowledge in respect of

The Quran and Hadith.
Seeking knowledge is obligatory on every Muslim man and woman.
Seek knowledge from the cradle to the grave.
Seek knowledge even if it is in China.
Wisdom is the missing property of the faithful, and one who has lost
something would catch it whatever he finds it.
The author or writer gave examples that what knowledge should acquire. In
respect of the above mentioned Hadiths is not specific and limited but to acquire
knowledge by itself. This means that the obligation of acquiring knowledge
is not only preparatory like those prerequisites for obligations which themselves
are not obligatory; acquiring knowledge is obligatory by itself as well.
The acquiring knowledge is not to just read and not to avail its importance and
significances in any part of life. The true meaning of acquiring knowledge is to
agree and with the reality and truth and be wise with it.
As a hadith from Prophet Isa A.S. is that: Achieve the truth and accept it, even
if from the people of the falsehood, but dont accept the falsehood, even if from
people of the truth.

Conclusion:
To conclude, seeking knowledge is an act of worship that requires you to keep
your intention sincerely for Allah alone and none else, seeking His Pleasure and
reward. Do not seek knowledge to show off or compete with others, or to
enliven ones gatherings.
Also know that knowledge is of no importance if one does not reap its fruits,
which is to practice the religion of Islam as Allah loves. So one should try to
practice what one learns as living Islam is what takes a person to Paradise.
