Anniversary in Dallas,TX On Friday evening, July 29 many Dr.Abdul Kalam followers gathered at BBQ Nation in Dallas (Plano), Texas to honor the passing of Bharata Ratna, President of India Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam. This event was graciously organized by Krishna Reddy Koduru and Prathap Bheemi Reddy. Hundreds of people took time out of their hectic lives to come on a Friday evening to the banquet to share with the rest of the world what a great hero Dr. A.P.J.Kalam really was. Krishna Reddy Koduru said, elaborating on a quote Dr. Kalam was fond of, Kalam always believed India has to be strong and only then would other countries respect the nation as well. He also ruminated that, though Kalam had a rough childhood he still overcame his struggles and became an aerospace scientist and president of India. Dr.Narasimha Reddy Urmindi quoted one of Dr. Abdul Kalams many inspiring sayings This is my belief: that through difficulties and problems God gives us the opportunity to grow, hidden in the ruins.
Dr.Srinadha Reddy Palavala spoke of his
intriguing opinion, Dr.Kalam gave engineering the thought and respect it deserved. He also voiced another good point, Once he was elected as president, he never took sides in reigning politicians, and always remained neutral and gave more importance to what was best for India. Pratap Reddy Bheemireddy said, Dr.Kalam worked day and night for the country to make India powerful in its Missile Technology. Dr.Ismail Penukonda spoke, Dr.Kalam was an avid humanitarian, had secular thoughts, respected every religion, and learned from every religion and religious gurus. He also said that Dr.Kalam worked with doctors to develop a low cost Coronary stent and other medical related equipment. Naseem Shaik said, Dr. Kalam always considered his nation first than religion. Youth needs to learn from Dr.Kalam. Ramana Putluru spoke, Dr. Kalam is a role model to everyone. Kalam spent most of his time with students to inspire them to be future leaders
Mahesh Adibatla spoke about Dr.Kalams quote
Failure will never overtake me if my determination to succeed is strong enough. Jagadeesh Porandla spoke about Dr.Kalam how he dedicated his life for the nation by sacrificing his personal life. Sree Basabathina spoke about Dr.Kalams simple life style and accessibility to everyone. He reiterated that Dr.Kalam went to every school whoever invited him. Venkat J.K mentioned some of Dr.Kalams contributions like developing a low cost Coronary stent and low-weight calipers using space age materials for the prosthetic legs for polio-affected patients and amputees.
Saji Gopal commented, We need to learn
from Dr. Kalam how to give importance to secular thoughts, and not to discriminate any cast or religion.
Krishna Reddy Koduru, Pratap Bheemireddy
and Siva Annapureddy demanded, The Indian Government should honor him by completing his
memorial.The government laid down the
foundation stone in his memory, but they still did not complete its making though one full year has passed. Our government needs to construct science museums, libraries on his name due to the wonderful attributions he made in his lifetime in the scientific field. Also they should name a missile after him. And on and on it goes as many speakers sparked a light of admiration in the listeners heart as they weave the rich tale of Dr. Kalams life into a detailed tapestry of woes and wonders and aspiring to one day be as great as Dr.Kalam and to inherit his outspokenness and intelligence through pure and innocent devotion. NRIs floated Memorial fund in memory of Dr A.P.J.Abdul Kalam.Prathap Bheemireddy and Srinadha Reddy Palavala pledged $10,000 each. Committee will decide how to utilize the funds in Dr.Kalams memory.
