Loganville Elementary
Georgia School of Excellence

August l, 2016
Dear Parents,

On behalf of our faculty and staff, I'd like to welcome you to the 2016-2017 school year at Loganville Elementary School! At LES
we strive to provide the absolute best education for your child in a warm, caring environment. Our dedicated faculty and staff are
here to assist you and your child as they learn and grow.

Walton County Public Schools has provided each child with an agenda that will be utilized daily. The agenda has valuable
information about services for your child provided by Walton CountyPublic Schools. In addition to the information provided,
other school specific information is listed below. I encourageyou to read the items belowand discuss with your child.
Instructional Time - At LES we value every minute of our instructional time. Parents are encouraged to be an active
participant in their child's education. Volunteering in the classrooms is appreciated. Please speak with your child's teacher
concerning needs. Parents are always welcome to visit the school but are not permitted to interrupt classes. Teachers are unable
to hold conferences during the instructional day. Parent conferences will be scheduled during teacher planning times and other
mutually convenient times. All parents/visitors MUSTsign-in at the front office and receive a visitor's tag.
Student Drop off & Dismissal - Student drop off begins at 8:oo. Staff members on duty will direct traffic. Car riders and

walkers will enter the main entrance at the front of the building. While we encourage all parents to allowstudents to walk
independently by August 12, 2016, parents are permitted to park in the LES parking lot to walk their children into the building.
No child is permitted to be dropped off at any location other than the car rider line and walker area/entrance. This entrance will
remain open until 8:40. At 8:40 the main entrance will close and lock for the remainder of the instructional day. Parents and
students wishing to enter the building after 8:40 must enter through the main office. For dismissal, students will be released at
3120. No student will be dismissed through the front office after 2:30 without a doctor's excuse. Parents are not permitted to
wait in the building for their child. Parents will be given a car rider pass and should place the pass on the front dash while
waiting in the car rider line for dismissal. Parents are prohibited from smoking or talking on cell phones in the car rider line.
Walkers will also be dismissed with car riders. Parents must walk across the cross walk and present their walker identification
card to one of the staff members on duty. Students who walk will only be released to someone who has their ^Ya}ke^ identification
card at the crosswalk. Bus drop off and dismissal is located at the rear of the building.
Tardy/Early Dismissal - Students are considered tardy if they arrive at school after 8:40AM or check out after 12:00PM.
Students who are checked out prior to 12:00PM will be considered absent for the entire school day.
Transportation - It is imperative that teachers and staff members know exactly how your child is to be dismissed. Parents
must send a note in the agenda if transportation needs change. Because we can't always check email throughout the day, please
do not send transportation changes via email. Only changes in transportation made in writing willbe honored. For student
safety, we cannot accept changes in transportation over the phone.
Updating current address/phone numbers - It is extremely important that the front office have CURRENTcontact

emergency the only manner in which the school can contact you is via the information that you provide.
