Knowledge Solutions. A scientist, researcher, professor and an entrepreneur, Dr
Bhardwaj has been involved as a Senior Technologists, Scientist & Advisor with a
number of Corporations including Sun Microsystems, Asia Pacific Science and
Technology Facility, New Delhi; Gridsolv Software, New Delhi; Scientific &
Engineering Computing Group, CDAC Pune; Veritas DGC Inc, Houston, TX, USA; MP
State
Electricity-Board.
He received a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering from BITS
Pilani; Masters of Science from IIT Delhi & Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from IIT Delhi.
He did his Post Doctoral research from North Western University, Evanston, IL USA
after which he served as visiting scientist at the Information Technology Services
Department, Eastern Illinois University, Charleston, IL & Istituto Per Applicazioni Della
Matematica, Napoli (Italy). In 2002, he joined the Computer Science & Engg. department
at IIT Delhi as a Asst Professor where he did research in Scientific Applications, Parallel,
Distributed and e-science (Grid computing), Parallel and Grid I/O, Interval Computing.
Dr Bhardwaj has published more than 40 research papers in the above technology areas
and is considered a pioneer in the area of grid computing.
Dr Bhardwaj won the Young Scientist selected by British Council under the Young
Scientist Network program between India and UK 2002, Young Scientist Award for year
2000 by Indian National Science Academy (INSA) & in 1998 by Department of Science
& Technology, Govt. of India. He was also invited Seminar at NASA-Ames Research
Center, California (USA). A Special Issue on Youth Power of INDIA TODAY, A
leading International magazine from India has published and article on Youth Guns: The
50 on Fast Track, featured him as one of the Young Leaders of tomorrow (January 31,
2005) along with Rahul Gandhi, Sania Mirza among others. His name was also included
in the millennium edition of Marquis Whos Who 1999.

Knowledge Solutions. Mr Sapra previously served as the President & Managing Director
of AT&T Asia & South Pacific. AT&T has provided international long-distance services
in India through VSNL for more than 26 years. Together with the Aditya V. Birla Group,
AT&T also operates Birla-AT&T Communications Ltd., India's largest cellular project
across Gujarat and Maharashtra including Goa. Together, Birla-AT&T Communications
Ltd. and AT&T India Ltd., employ more than 400 professionals. AT&T has a significant
presence in Asia/Pacific, with headquarters in Hong Kong and offices in 11 countries in
the region. AT&T has approximately 1,000 employees that serve customers in 26
countries and one territory across Asia/Pacific. In partnership with local companies,
AT&T has joint ventures in India, Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, the Philippines and
Taiwan.
Prior to joining AT&T, Mr. Sapra was chief executive officer of GE Communications,

Mr A.S Chandrashekhar is the President of Training & Operations Committee at Appin

knowledge Solutions. Mr Chandrashekhar has experience of 27 years in prestigious
government organizations & 10 years as Managing Director of TQM Systems Pvt. Ltd, a
corporate training company.
He joined Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) as Asst Director in 1966 and rose to the level
of Director during his 22-year career at the institute. BIS, the national government
organization set up under the ministry of civil supply and consumer efforts for setting up
national standards codes, norms, product certification & quality management system
activities, is the body responsible for coming up with ISI mark standards. During his
tenure at BIS, he was actively associated in introducing statistical quality control aspects
in the nations standards as well as implementing them at the industry level covering
food, electrical and mechanical engineering industries. He was also associated in
developing strong models for Indias participation in the international standardization
activities. He successfully coordinated the work relating to conversion of the institution
into a bureau through an act of parliament during 1980-85. His successful projects
include developing 5th plan document for the institution running parallel to the national
plan.
Mr Chandrashekhar also worked with Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), the
pioneering engineering association having more than 10000 members, as the Director &
Counselor of their TQM division for 5 Years from 1988 to 1993. During his tenure, he
successfully implemented quality management projects in more than 2000 units.
From 1993 onwards, Mr. Chandrasekhar served as Managing Director of TQM Systems
Pvt. Ltd. The company was focused on providing quality Corporate Training to
organizations in the field of Six Sigma implementation, Customer driven focus,

TRAINING PROGRAMS
Labeled as high impact short term courses, duration of these programs are generally 15
days (24 Hours) on average though related courses are combined to form packages of 1
month to 1 year. Certain level of customization is possible in accordance with the clients
requirements. Right now we have Level 1 of course (Basic/Intermediate) and are coming
up with Level 2 (Advanced) of each of these courses in the near future. Level 3
(Professional/Diploma) programs are also planned in future. Appin Labs insure that
development of each student takes place as there are a maximum of 30 students per
trainer with only 3-5 students in a project batch on a computer. Each student is provided
with a comprehensive training material comprising of CDs & Booklet. Students give an
online test (can be given up to 3 times) after doing the course and are awarded an
internationally recognized certificate upon receiving greater than 50% marks. The

driving customers to dealers for purchasing Appins products and result in greater
number of customers and revenue for the dealer. Just like a book retail business, Dealers
are given Appins products as well as entry tickets for workshops/seminars at a
discounted price. The program is offered to only a selected set of exclusive dealers who
are the best retail outlets in the area. All Dealers are featured on Appins website and
brochures.
APPIN JOINT VENTURE/FRANCHISEE PROGRAM
Appin Joint Venture program enables companies & entrepreneurs to replicate Appin
Knowledge Solutions success in New Delhi in their own country, state, city or town.
Company allowed to work, as a partner with Appin Knowledge Solutions would be
carrying out complete business cycle from marketing, trainer procurement and running
courses, working very closely with Appin HQ as a Joint Venture.
The financial model for a Joint Venture is simple. Partner company will be allowed to use
the Appin Brand, Marketing Material, Trainers training material, Course Material,
Certification, Placement help and more retaining 100% profits that come from taking the
course. Appin will only charge a fixed nominal fee of for the course material (CDs,
Booklet, Online test, Certificate) per student while the partner is allowed to sell the
course at any price to the student. This course material with code for an online test at our
Austin Servers & Certification, normally referred to as HomTech Certification Course
(Class Room Student Edition), packaged in an attractive box will suffice for all training
material. Students will also be given complimentary placement help after getting a
certificate.
Partners trainers would also be given a Homtech Certification Course (Teachers
edition) that they will study and would be allowed to take classes after clearing a test and
becoming Appin certified trainers. Again a nominal fixed cost per course per trainer will
be levied for the course material & certification.

For its first year of operation, additional help such as using Appin HQ seasoned trainers
& marketing representatives is also available for working with the partner company for a
nominal fee.
Requirements to set up a Joint Venture are simple. All the partner company needs is a
computer lab with minimum 5 computers, 2 trainers & a marketing representative to set
up the business. And as Appin does not demand exclusivity of the center, you are free to
run other courses not covered in the Appin domain as well or use the lab for any other
purpose in its free time.

Appin Labs is a special form of Joint Venture program where the Franchisee is a college
or an educational trust. In this setting, an Appin Centre is set up within the college
premises and caters to both Appin Center & College Connect programs. College Students
take Appins courses within the college premise itself and are taught by colleges own
professors who are Appin certified in niche technology areas. It is colleges decision to
make the Appin Lab open for outside students as well thereby making it an even more
profitable venture.
