RED SOX MANAGER JOHN FARRELL:

On Iwakumas performance tonight.
He kept us off stride with a lot of splits, sliders, cutters, elevated fastballs on occasion and he out of the middle of the
plate. For a guy who is certainly capable of pitching like he did tonight, weve had success against him in the past and it
was his turn tonight. He was in command the entire time he was on the mound.
On Porcello giving up 3 home runs.
With the exception of three swings of the bat and three pitches, it was another strong outing from Rick. Unfortunately its
on a night when Iwakuma is as strong as he is. It looked like to me that two fastballs that found the bigger part of the plate
to Cruz and Zunino and then a 2-0 changeup that Lind was able to keep his hands back just enough to get out of here. On
a night when we are scuffling to get anything going until the latter innings, in this ballpark those three runs played big.
