With reference to letter no 220/16/DC/FIC/FSD dated 13-05-2016 and Drug

Testing Laboratory Punjab report No: TRA 981/DTL dated 09-02-2016 generated
by Govt. Analyst the product STERIBAND GAUZE ROLL 1 X 30 M BATCH NO
0985 described as substandard
First of all, we are to clarify that weight of gauze roll can only be reach required
limits if the warp threads and weft thread are within limits. So, this shows that warp
threads and weft threads are complying the required limits. We have tested this fact
in our quality control lab and production section, and the result is that;

Warp threads are complying the limits.

Weft threads are also complying the limits.
Weight is complying with the required limit.
There is a slight change in length because of rolling machinery but this is also
within the limits of 5% as allowed in British Pharmacopoeia.
There is a slight change in the width also because of stretching of the cloth
during rolling. But this is also within the limit of 5% as allowed in British
Pharmacopoeia.

On a whole, the defects are solely due to the irregular behavior of rolling machinery
and fluctuations in electricity. The panels on the machine showed the very minute
variations in length and folding measurement panels and thats why the product has
gone slightly out of standard.
We are requesting that kindly consider the real situation of manufacturing surgical
dressing products, because manufacturing surgical dressings is wholly a different
experience as compared to medicine and there is always a chance of having
unintended errors while dealing with the fabrics especially.
So, please consider our plea and give us relief in this case. We will be careful in the
future regarding this matter.
