IMTD
IMDT is working with mission convergence since December 2008. We were sanctioned the
areas of old Delhi as Sita Ram Bazar, Chawri Bazar, Lal Kuan, Bali Maran, G. B. Road, Jama
Masjid , We completed the survey of 10500 household appox. and got the detailed history of
poor and vulnerable household and families. We observed that in these congested areas,
people are really in need as most of the men are suffering from different diseases and
cannot afford to work and it is difficult for women to take the burden of family responsibility.
We also observed 40% are disabled and 30-35 % are widows and divorcees. With the grace
Delhi Government, it will be possible for us to give beneficiaries the required necessaties.
We find people in this area are vulnerable and poor and find them needy. We are aware and
known to these areas very well and It will be comfortable for us to perform activities and
provide facilities to them to complete the mission of mission convergence.

AwaazUthao campaign was launched in Delhi on 8th March 2011 on the occasion of
International Womens Day, to address the safety concerns of Women and Girls in the city. The
initiative involves formation of women and youth collectives (groups) at the grassroots level, to
address the issues of women safety at public places and support women in distress including
situations of sexual harassment / assault and rape. It is envisaged that these collectives would act
as an effective instrument of change in their respective communities and bring about perceptible
improvement both in societal mindset towards gender issues and the physical environment.
It includes the activities:
a) For eve teasing
b) Harassment of women
c) Domestic violence
How the IMTD organize
They have 4 groups which includes 20 members. Another group that includes the stakeholders.
Stakeholder includes MLAs, SHOs, counselors etc. With the help of these people, the members
of IMTD try to counsel the people who approach them for help. help the people who come for
their help. They help them to get their report registered in the nearest police station, provide
councelling etc.
Legal Aid: We have appointed a legal Lawyer and counselor in our GRC to provide free
services to the beneficiaries. The community especially women cant afford to give fees to
lawyers and suffer from traumas. To give them peaceful life we have also joint hands with
DLSA. In all 48 awareness sessions are organized in the community by legal lawyer to give
them awareness touching different topics such as child labour, matrimonial Alliance,
domestic Violence, Eve Teasing and harassment, RTI, Rights of women, mediation, etc.
Similar procedure obtains in Karol Bagh. Appox. 1300 beneficiaries attended the Awareness
sessions in Old Delhi and 952 in Karol Bagh GRC and 200 in Old Delhi and 150were given legal
services.
SELF DEFENSE TRAINING
There are cases of Molesting, Eve Teasing, Rape, Sexual Abuse, and Harassment both physical
and mental. There is no protection and safety for women and girls. therefore, it has become
very important to give self defense training to our community women. IMDT has arranged
special self defense training with the collaboration with Delhi Police Nanakpura Head office for
the protection of female gender. 200 girls / women(2014-15) were provided training for their
