Executive Summary
Watkins Uiberall has been a Memphis area public accounting firm since 1971. They
recently opened a smaller office in Tupelo, Mississippi. Watkins Uiberall has a very strong
mission statement To provide services and solutions to assist our clients in attaining their
goals. Michael Uiberall and Bill Watkins founded Watkins Uiberall to ensure that all client
received the best results possible. As the firm has grown, the vision statement To be the
Midsouths leading independent certified public accounting firm is coming true, and by their 2
offices, I believe this is the case.
Watkins Uiberall prides itself on many core values that the firm considers strengths for
themselves and for their clients. A main objective is to deliver outstanding service in a timely
manner. This applies to all the services that Watkins Uiberall provides. The firm offers audit and
attestation, tax compliance and planning, consulting, and business and accounting services.
While these are a lot of services that they offer, I believe that Watkins Uiberall hires intelligent
and personable staff who are willing to go above and beyond the expected work agreed upon.
The primary reason the firm maintains long-term client relationships is because of the dedication
of its employees.
The leadership at Watkins Uiberall is very knowledge with public accounting and many
have certifications other than just a CPA. Examples of such certifications include CFE and
CGMA. The firm also has over 65 employees at all levels so this allows plenty of client coverage
if need be. Watkins Uiberall also encourages employee to get their CPA certification within 18
months of employment and they also start hiring when an applicant has at least 142 credit hours.

This means that the applicant has 3 classes to take between the hire date and the pass of the CPA
examination. This requirement enables the firm to hire soon to be CPAs.
I firmly believe that Watkins Uiberall is one of the biggest local public accounting firms
in Memphis for many reasons. The excellent staff, the openness with clients, and the ability for
the firm to adapt to change allows for a work environment that constantly excels in its purpose.
Michael Uiberall and William H. Watkins Jr. have always pushed exceeding clients expectations
and it is because of this that Watkins Uiberall has been around for 46 years and is still going
strong.
