Generalrulesforconstructingrootloci
Tofacilitatetheapplicationoftherootlocusmethodforsystemsofhigherorderthan2nd,rulescanbe
established.Theserulesarebasedupontheinterpretationoftheangleconditionandtheanalysisofthe
characteristicequation.Therulespresentedaidinobtainingtherootlocusbyexpeditingthemanualplotting
ofthelocus.Butforautomaticplottingusingacomputertheserulesprovidecheckpointstoensurethatthe
solutioniscorrect.
Thoughtheangleandmagnitudeconditionscanalsobeappliedtosystemshavingdeadtime,inthe
