CLINICAL TEACHING
Emphasis on clinical diagnosis (history taking/ physical examination).
Less need to emphasise on natural history of diseases (compared to latter years); history taking can be done in
other sites eg emergency department. Structured out-patient clinical examination technique teaching on regular
basis at Seberang Jaya centre.
LECTURES and TUTORIALS :
Lectures: Medicine and Surgery integrated approach to diagnosis in hospital and community.
Tutorials: Case-based; emphasis on clinical presentation with reference to pathogenesis; basic science.
Modules in Clinical Skills Unit and Behavioural Medicine.

Medicine and Surgery all day except for Wednesdays afternoons. More time in the wards. Tutorials can be at a flexible time within specialty posting.
ENT and Ophthalmology all day.
Lectures to be kept to a minimum. Whole class lectures on Wednesday afternoons 3 hrs X 18 weeks; including Public Health, Forensic Medicine, EBM.
