2. Objectives of the society/club (basic agenda)
I. Preserving

and

conservation

of

Pakistan

authenticity

tradition

by

propagating the rich heritage with continuous performances and promotion


of our folklore dance, music, songs, costumes & customs as well as all other
forms of traditional arts.
II. Creating enter-educational activities and organizing programs that will help
maintain peace, strengthen solidarity and friendship within our societies.
III. Providing opportunities for youths to explore their talents in performing arts
by giving the needed support/tools to encourage schools into the uplifting &
improvement of our art forms.
IV. Promoting cultural relations by arranging and developing cultural exchange
programme that will encourage & improve integration.
V. Organizing and attending seminars, symposium, conferences, festivals,
concerts, contest and gatherings connected with cultural promotions and
development.

VI. Working with theatrical/cultural organizations to create more awareness to


the ills in our society
e.g. H.I.V., DRUG ABUSE, GENDER EQUALITY, CHILD ABUSE, ROAD SAFETY
etc; and trying to correct them through artistic projects.

5. Responsibilities of the President
Shall be responsible for the co-ordination of the activities of the Associations office
bearers, delegating duties when appropriate. This entails:
I. Chair all Students Council Meetings.
II. Have overall responsibility of the Association.
III. Lead Association members in promoting their interest.
IV. The President shall arrange for preparation of the annual accounts and will
be responsible for the presentation of these to the appropriate committees.
V. Liaison between the Students Welfare Association, the University and other
relevant external organisations, both local and international.
VI. Act as the spokesperson of the Association.
6. Responsibilities of the vice president and General Secretary
Vice President (Social and Cultural)
1. In the absence of the President he will take over the duties of the
President.
2. He will chair the meeting of the Social and Cultural Subcommittee.
3. Carry out any duty that may be assigned to him by the President.
General Secretary
1. Organising and taking minutes of the meetings.

2. Keeping endorsed records of the minutes of the meeting for future


reference.
3. Corresponding with other relevant bodies from outside the university.
Appointment procedure/election
1. Aptitude and interest based interviews will be conducted and students
with good communication, active participation and innovative/creative
mind will be preferred.
2. These aims and objectives shall be pursued in the greater interest of the
students in general free from any political or secretarial ideology.
3. All registered full time regular students of the University shall be
members of the Association unless they are debarred by University
Authority. Students not residing in the halls of residence, students
expelled from the halls of residence and provisional students will not have
the right to be a member.
All members shall:
1. be eligible for membership of all affiliated clubs and societies of the
Association.
2. Have access to all Association functions and use of all Association facilities
and privileges.
3. be able to participate in selections of their representative and to attend
meetings as provided hereunder.
4. be able to be selected as members of House of Representatives and/or as
members of Students Government.

1. Name of the society

LGU Dramatic Society (LGU-DS)


Any institutions academic as well as intellectual progress depends upon the
quality of education and the literary and artistic opportunities, provided to the
students. It is one of the major responsibilities of the institution to give a proper
platform to youth, so they could excel in studies as well as in intellects. For this
purpose, LGU intends to establish a society, comprising of valuable faculty
members and energetic students with the permission of competent authority.
2. Objectives:
The proposed society aims to give know-how to the students about Urdu,
English & Punjabi literary and intellectual treasure. LGU (DS) will organize
programs for the young audience, in which performing arts will have the
eminent place along with resourceful discussions and lectures.
1. To develop an intellectually groomed reputation of LGU and its students.
2. To enhance Urdu, English and Punjabi language skills in the students.
3. To polish our students hidden talents in performing arts.
4. To reform young generation in a disguise of entertainment.
5. To provide co-curricular activities to the students.

4. Society Positions:
The society position holders will be selected from the students after their
aptitudes assessments via interviews and auditions. Two sets of society positions
will be established i.e. one for English language and second for Urdu & Punjabi
languages.

5. Selection of Society Positions & General Members:

Notices for the auditions and interviews will be put up.

The willing students will give the demonstration of their performing talents.

The students will be interviewed about their previous experience in the fields
of performances, management and creative department.

After the detailed assessment of their expositions, the names of the selected
students will be displayed on the notice board as well as on the LGU (DS)
official Facebook Page.

General members will also be elected ranging from 15-20 in numbers.

6. General Rules for the Members:

All the society position holders and general members have to be the regular
students of the university.

The graduated and expelled students cannot be the part of the society.

The society position holders can be demoted or eliminated from their


positions in case of their lack of cooperation, irresponsible behaviour and
unethical tactics.

7. Proposed Meeting Schedule:

The fortnightly meetings will be arranged among society coordinators,


society position holders and members.

Weekly or daily meetings can be arranged in case of the running projects.

To

encourage

enhance

knowledge,

understanding and appreciation of nature, and the principle and practice of


conservation of natural resources among the common mass.

To promote and maintain liaison between various discipline of science and


technology related to environment.

To establish and maintain contacts with various departments of state


government and union government, national, regional and international
organization or any other agency so far as these contacts are beneficial to
the societys objectives.

To advise the state government union government or any other organization


on matters related to environment, in the interest of public at large.

To hold, sponsor, support or collaborate conferences, seminars, symposia,


meetings, training programs, demonstrations, mass mobilization campaigns,
popular lectures, cultural programs, etc to promote education and awareness
on issues related to development of natural resources and conservation of
environment.

To frame co-curricular activities and organize courses in environmental


sciences at all levels of education.

To provide consultancy services for projects related to natural resources or


environment.

To promote research on science, technology and environment for sustainable


development.

To do all such things, which may be necessary, incidental or constructive, to

WHAT IS GITS?
GITS stands for Garrison information technology society. A platform for those
students who want to grow and compete in the field of information technology.
AIMS & OBJECTIVES:
GITS platform will provide guidance to students in selecting subfield of IT. This
platform will provide guidance to students that how they can excel in field they
choose. This platform represents the CS department of Garrison University.
BENEFITS:
The society will have the following benefits. It will

Take concrete steps for boosting students interest in IT.


Give opportunity to the students of department to express/show their talent.
Enhance the capabilities of competition/presentation in students.
Make students aware of what development taking place in IT world (whats
new).

WHAT GITS IS ALL ABOUT?


To accomplish aims and objectives, GITS will organize different IT events
(competitions, workshops, exhibitions and seminars) for the benefit of students.

MEMBERSHIP
GITS will have different types of members. All the students of computer science
department LGU will be members of this society. All the students of computer science
department will be offered on demands associate membership of this society. In
addition to above the society may also offer an ornery membership to someone not
covered by the above membership and who has rendered valuable services to the
society.

MANAGEMENT OF SOCIETY
All the events, seminars of society will be conducted under the supervision of
chairman of computer science department LGU. The activities of the society will be
managed by an executive council. This council will consist following:

Some members of the society (these members will be taken from all those
sections which could not be the represented by the above office bearers).
SOCIETY CONSTITUTION

ARTICLE I: OFFICERS
The GITS shall have a president, vice president, secretary, treasurer and advisor.
These officers comprise the executive committee or board. Any vacancy which may
occur in an office shall be filled by appointment by an advisor.
ARTICLE II: DUTIES (THIS IS ONLY ONE POSSIBLE WAY TO ORGANIZE DUTIES):
SECTION A: PRESIDENT
The president will be chief executive officer.
The president will approve committee members and directs budget
SECTION B: THE VICE PRESIDENT

The vice president shall be the parliamentarian for the society


The vice president shall assume the duties of the president in absence.
The vice president will keep and have available current copies of the
constitution and by-laws.
The vice president will be responsible for scheduling programs.
SECTION C: EVENT CO-ORDINATOR
The event coordinator shall be responsible for keeping the minutes of all
meetings and the meeting of executive board.
The event coordinator will provide a copy of the minutes for each officer and
keep a master file.
The event coordinator shall maintain a complete and accurate account of
attendance and membership status.
The event coordinator is responsible for all external and internal events.
SECTION D: TREASURER
The treasurer shall keep a current record of all financial transactions.
The treasurer shall develop quarterly reports containing a list of all receipts and
disbursements and distribute them among the membership.
The treasurer will be responsible for checking the accuracy of all bills and
invoices and paying them correctly and on time.
The treasurer will perform other duties as directed by the president.
SECTION E: ADVISOR
The advisor shall assist the group in their execution of roles and responsibilities.
The advisor shall provide feedback to the society regarding its operation and
functioning.
The advisor shall serve as a resource.
The advisor should provide advice upon request, and also should share
knowledge, expertise, and
experience with the group.
