Overview
Oursemesterlongprojectisfocusedondiscriminatorycourtcasesofthepast,present,
andfuture.InaddressingthissubjectwewilltouchoncourtcaseslikeBrownv.Boardof
Education,Batsonv.Kentucky,whilealsocontrastingBrockTurnerandMikkalShawscourt
cases.Throughdiscussingthesecourtcaseswewilldwellonthefactthatdiscriminationisstill
heretothisday,nomatterhowhardwetrytoeradicatetheissue.

ProjectPlan
Wewilladdressthesecourtcasesinchronologicalorder(Brownv.BoardofEducation,
Batsonv.Kentucky,andthenthecontrastofBrockTurnerandMikkalShawscases).Wewill
presentthisinformationinapowerpointinclassexplainingsegregationthroughoutschool
systems,denialofbasiccivilrights,andthecontrastbetweenawhitemalescrime/sentencing
andablackmalescrime/sentencing.Wewilltakeadvantageoftheuniversitiesresourceswe
haveavailablesuchasthelibraryandotherresourcesliketheinternet.Wewillthoroughly
explainhowdiscriminationhasbeenpresentthroughoutmanyyears.Wewillhaveatleastone
paragraphfocusingonthediscriminationpresentineachofthecourtcaseswementioned
above,alongwithatleast3examplesofthediscriminationpresentineachcase.Wewillhave
atleasttwoslidesforeachcourtcase,oneintroducingthecase,andonedefiningthe
discriminationpresentinthecase.

Justification
Wechosetodothisprojectbecausediscriminationisoneofthemostcontroversial
topicsbeingtalkedabouttoday.Discriminationissomethingwehaveallfacedinourlife,
maybenotinacourt,butsomethingthatispresentinoureverydaylives.Wechosetopresent
ourcourtcasesinchronologicalordersoitisdisplayedthatdiscriminationhasnotdisappeared
throughouttheyears.Thistopicisalsoprevalentinthemediatoday,becauseeachpresidential
debateinvolvesthediscussionormentionofdiscrimination.

RolesandResponsibilities
SashaSashaisinchargeoftypingthepaperasweworktogetheronit.Shesalsoincharge
ofmakingcorrectionstosomeofthethingsthatIgiveintheproject.
WhitneyGatheringinformationaboutracialdiscriminationpresentinUScourtcases
throughoutthepast,andpresent.Andpoliticsinthepast,present,andfutureshowinghow
racismhasprevailedthroughoutalltheseyears.

Timeline
Wewillbeginthepaperby7/24,andwewillcompletethepaperby8/1andweplantocomplete
thepowerpointpresentationby8/4.
Conclusion
Thegoalofourprojectistojustifythatdiscriminationisnotrightandthatitisstillpresent
inoureverydaylives.Nomatterhownaivewetrytoactaboutitweknowthatracismisstill
heretothisveryday.Discriminationtodaymaynotbenotbeingallowedtouseacertain
bathroom,ornotbeingallowedincertainrestaurantsorshopsbecauseofapersonsskintone,

butithastakenonanewshapeandform.Nowitsmoreunderthetable,becauseofbasic
rightsthathavebeenimplementedtoeveryone.Alsoinpoliticsnow,theracebetweenthe
democrats,andrepublicans.
