OPERATIONS OFFICER FINANCE


FNTI (First Nations Technical Institute), located on Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory near Belleville, Ontario, builds capacity in
Indigenous communities through education. FNTI employs Indigenous educational approaches in its programming that are
rooted in cultural relevancy, the integrity and internal congruence of which is accredited through the World Indigenous
Nations Higher Education Consortium. FNTI, in partnership with various colleges and universities, offers a wide range of
post-secondary programs across Ontario.

FNTI is seeking an OPERATIONS OFFICER FINANCE. Under direction of the Executive


Director, Operations, and working closely with the Operations Team, the Operations Officer
Finance will support all aspects of Finance operations, including:
Using AccPac, issuing vendor cheques, recording cheques and bank balances daily.
Monthly invoicing, weekly deposits, weekly reports, and customer invoicing.
Preparing and posting regular journal and bank entries, retrieving, post sub-ledger
batches (AP, AR), reconcile bank statements, checking clearing and controlling accounts.
Determining and processing accrued charges, accrued wages, deferred revenue, and
prepaid expenses.
Managing program and partner financials, processing project, grant and transfer
agreement funding allocations.
Quarterly financial and performance reporting, audit preparation, accruals, capital,
month-end and year-end reports, T2202s and other reports, as requested.
Qualifications and

Core Competencies:

A College diploma in a related field and at least three years of relevant experience or an equivalent
combination of education and experience.
Proficiency with the use of computers including AccPac, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Outlook, Google Docs,
web based systems and internet usage.
A demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective processes and systems.
Organizational, oral and written communication and customer service skills.
Demonstrated attention to detail, accuracy & confidentiality.
Aboriginal descent preferred.
