Welcome Back!

Parents and guardians,

I hope you and your students have enjoyed the summer break! My name is Ashley Tew
and I am excited to begin a new school year as your childs art teacher. I want to
encourage you to participate in your childs learning adventures. Students will create
many colorful and fun projects and have the opportunity to participate in a number of
art shows and contests this year. I will be sure to update you as more information
becomes available. I am creating a web page to keep families updated on what we are
doing in all of my art classes. I will be sure to notify you all when it is up and running.
You are also welcome to contact me or stop by the art room at any time to see what we
are working on.
In order to optimize your childs creative experience, Id like to ask you to provide your
child with a few supplies. I understand that school supplies can quickly add up. You may
buy these supplies over the course of the class as we get ready to use them. If you
wish, I will notify you via email as we prepare to use new supplies. The first items we
will need are poster board and sharpies. If you can not get all or any of these supplies,
that is okay. All necessary supplies will be provided, but are shared among many
students. Id like to have as many students with their own supplies as possible.
1 piece of 22x30 in. white poster board
Colored pencils, markers, or crayons
A box in which to store all supplies other than sketchbook
A large tee shirt, old button up, or apron for messy projects
I have attached a copy of the syllabus given to students as well as an info sheet that
needs to be filled out and returned to me as soon as possible.
