METHOD STATEMENT FOR EXCAVATION


1. GENERAL
All excavation shall be with excavators, and the excavated soil shall be brought out by dump
trucks. Excavation works shall be phased according to the final elevations. And elevation and
area shall be surveyed at each phase.
2. SCOPE
The works consist of the excavation (including all necessary handling, hauling) and shaping /
trimming in accordance with the locations, lines, levels, grades and dimensions shown on the
Drawings.
3. EQUIPMENT
- Excavator
- Dump Truck
4. PROCEDURE OF EXCAVATION :
- Any obstacle encountered during excavation shall be replaced immediately as per
Supervisor or Engineer-in-charge instruction.
- The contractor shall not undertake any concreting in foundation until the excavation pit /
trench is approved by Engineer-in-charge.
- The specification for earth work shall also be applied to excavation in rock in general.
- In case of hard rock requiring blasting, the same shall be as per Client Specification.
- The Contractor shall make necessary arrangement of lighting, fencing, flagman & suitable
measures for protection against risk of accident.
Where the excavation is to be carried out below foundation level of an adjacent structure,
precaution is to be taken such as underpinning, shoring and strutting etc be determined by
Engineer-in-charge. Treatment use pit and put waterpump can do if water table found in
excavation area. For make sure ground level compacted is laying sand and compacted
manual or with hand compacted machine
- Existing ground survey for existing electrical, underground cables, water line pipe and etc.
